You know EVERY member of the nominating committee?
You are a jOKE.
geez,
lightin up a bit.
Ok it was two members, but they did agree with me.
There's a big difference between two members and the entire committee.
Sorry, but just because two members allegedly agreed with you does not mean that Chenoweth is out and Block is in. I'm not saying Block will not get nominated, though I doubt it'll happen, but don't generalize.
it was a friggin joke.
I am pulling for Block
and i think Cheno could have done better.

We know Curtain...we know...
Kristin is definitely going to be nominated. I don't see how you can ignore her performance. Even if her nomination is just based on the role and its history. At the performance I saw, there were three people to my right who have seen lots of theatre going way back (I think one even said they saw the original production of The Apple Tree) and they all agreed that of any actress other than Barbara Harris, only Kristin could have done the role justice, thus justifying the reason for having the revival in the first place. I think she's a lock for a nomination.

Chenoweth was great, and made the parts her own, but the role(s) were specifically written for Harris, whose voice devoured the score.
Chenoweth makes some odd choices to make the score make sense in her voice and acting style, but I still don't think she's necessarily right the role. The closet thing to Harris - maybe, but I'm not convinced of that either.
She'll definately get a Tony nod, for her attempt though.
Ebersole was fantastic, of course, but she's a stand out in a not-too-strong/obvious leading category year.
Bundy definately has a chance, though I haven't seen her performance, the role of Elle Woods is huge, and she'll be adorable and likable - just like Winokur in Hairspray. Nomination - definately; win - terribly unlikely.
McDonald - of course. She's Audra McDonald in a sure-fire winning role. She'll either beat Ebersole, and come in a close second. OR! Split the vote and let Bundy win.
Should be an exciting race, and I can't wait to see Bundy and, especially, my muse, Ms. MsDonald.
I really want to see Steph pull this one. I think if it was any year but this year she would win hands down.

So, 2006 for example. If the line-up were:
LaChanze, THE COLOR PURPLE
Patti LuPone, SWEENEY TODD
Sutton Foster, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
Chita Rivera, CHITA RIVERA: THE DANCER'S LIFE
Kelli O'Hara, THE PAJAMA GAME
(and, assuming she bumped out one of the above ladies?)
Stephanie J. Block, THE PIRATE QUEEN
You think Block would win "hands down"?
Or, 2005 for example:
Victoria Clark, THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA
Sutton Foster, LITTLE WOMEN
Sherie Rene Scott, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
Christina Applegate, SWEET CHARITY
Erin Dilly, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
(and, assuming she bumped out one of the above ladies?)
Stephanie J. Block, THE PIRATE QUEEN
You think she'd still beat out Victoria Clark, "hands down"?
This year,in my opinon, for many performers is not about winning. It is about getting a nomination in such a crowded year.Sure everyone wants to win but I think just about everyone knows Christine Ebersole will be taking home the award in this category.
Yup, I agree. This is anticlimatic as far as winner is concerned. It's all about who's going to be nominated. The Divine Ms. E. deserves that Tony. Anyone nominated alongside her should be so lucky!

Well, no Xanadu means no Kerry this year, but next year has Sierra, Megan, and Sutton.
Sierra, that's funny.
I had the same laugh.
Wait, Megan and Sutton for leading in YF? Neither of those roles are really leading roles, the only leading role in YF is truly Dr. Frankenstein.
I think ebersole is a shoe-in
yet..the other noms will probably go to:
(drum roll please...)
chenoweth
block
michele
brown
i dont think bundy has really got a shot. marissa only won because the show opened at such a prime time and really became the big ticket on broadway.
so what about
Munk and Murphy and McDonald?
You've got to be kidding me. Not to sound rude, but almost all the people you listed have no chance at a nomination.
Brown: Got lukewarm/cold reviews, and pales in comparison to the other ladies this year.
Michele: Not a bad performance, but she really should have been featured. She would definitley be nominated if she was featured.
I would say Bundy has a much bigger chance than Brown and Michele.
My predictions (once again):
Christine Ebersole, GREY GARDENS
Debra Monk, CURTAINS
Audra McDonald, 110 IN THE SHADE
Kristin Chenoweth, THE APPLE TREE
Donna Murphy, LOVEMUSIK

Ebersole
Munk
Murphy
Chenoweth
McDonald
Write THAT list down.
I agree with fachedaluna...Stephanie is a triple treat! This part is difficult with lots of action. She does a WONDERFUL performance.
Sorry also, I do love the material. This show is FABULOUS.
ps: I don't think fache's comments were rude at all. She is just giving back with her impressions of what is being stated.

WOT~~~~
Yes, I do think Stephane J. would have been given a nomination over those you stated above!
I'd be willing to bet money on the fact that Block will not be nominated...
I'll take that bet...She will be nominated!!!!!!!!
Have you seen her in it Munk?
