2011-2012 Musical Revivals....?

I love a good revival. We only have 2 musical revivals this season. Doesn't the list of possible revivals for next season seem unusually large?

Dancin' (announced Roundabout revival)
Evita
Follies (possible Kennedy Center transfer)
Funny Girl
Godspell
Hello, Dolly! (possible revival with LuPone)
The King and I (possible Lincoln Center revival)
Oklahoma! (Possible Arena transfer)
On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (Harry Connick Jr. attached)
Zorba (Antonio Banderas attached)

Am I missing any? How many of these do we think will actually happen?

Has there been any official press saying Follies is aiming for Broadway or is this just speculation?

There's been nothing announced but contracts have been drawn up in preparation of it.

Well Peters was reportedly trying to do Nunn's production in London too, in order to guarantee that she'll be Sally on Broadway regardless of which production transfers. But doing Nunn's production didn't pan out. If the KC production gets great reviews, I would imagine we'll see a transfer.

Is Lapine going to be free for the Merrily revival? It's his project right? With Annie and possibly Little Miss Sunshine on his plate?

The MERRILY revival is like that BRIGADOON revival. Years of talk and speculation.

Hope so, RE Follies. I'll have none of a Nunn Follies.

They should do Brigadoon and Merrily in rep with that long proposed Side Show revival.

And shouldn't Rob Ashford be doing another Golden Age musical comedy set in the workplace? How Now, Dow Jones perhaps? 2011-2012 Musical Revivals....?

Off-Broadway first. No word on Broadway yet.

Is Marshall still trying to get Reba in Unsinkable Molly Brown?

Annie is the 2012-2013 season. Not next season.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

I think Unsinkable Molly Brown is in revival limbo... (with Merrily and Hedwig)

Well there is the Paulus Pippin revival. Might that sneak in next spring?

it may just be rumored, but isn't the Papermill production of Newsies also it's pre-Broadway tryout??

as of now, only Dancin' & Evita are confirmed, the rest are just "in the works".
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I've always understood that production of Newsies is the pilot production for licensing purposes like Aladdin in Seattle is.
