I imagine Smash will not be eligible for Score and Old Friends will not be eligible for Orchestrations (Jonathan Tunick is credited for the original orchestrations of a majority of the material presented, not for creating new orchestrations).

''I imagine Smash will not be eligible for Score''
I think you're right. 'Smash's'' songs all come from the TV series, with one exception: a new song called ''Broadway's Calling You,'' near the end of the show.
However, if ''Smash'' is nominated for Best Musical, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman will be included among the show's roughly 60 producers.
By the way, Bob Martin, winner of the 2006 Tony for his book to ''The Drowsy Chaperone,'' has worked on the books to two new musicals: ''Boop'' and ''Smash'' (which he co-wrote with Rick Elice). Will Martin get 2 Tony nominations, 1 or none?

Martin is definitely striking out this year. With so many strong books in the mix, BOOP’s falls short of that high bar (even though it sets out to fulfill its purpose) and SMASH’s was an absolute mess critic-wise
