Many local markets are announcing their seasons. Should we have a roundup thread?
How do you all feel about this? Do you feel comfortable subscribing for a Fall Return?

I get why they're doing it, but I wouldn't subscribe.

We've (Jacksonville) had our Hamilton rescheduled again. The last date was the first week in September to start performances. New date is starting end of September to mid October with a third week added.

Guess Les Mis and Cher Show aren't happening anymore ? Was looking forward to seeing both again . Sigh... At least I've seen Les Mis twice in person and there are sooo many staged concerts filmed now😬

I know they had pushed The Cher Show back to the 2021-2022 touring season at the onset of the pandemic, but considering there is a backlog of touring shows that have not played the markets yet, I wouldn't be surprised if it is now pushed to 2022-2023, or just scraped all together.

I can only imagine how difficult it was to try and reschedule all these shows, but it's weird how they are all crammed into the winter months and then a 6 month gap out to August.

Hadestown has been rescheduled in Orlando to December 2022. I doubt any of the above dates, for at least this show, will go on. Wicked in Orlando has been rescheduled for 2023. I can't imagine holding on to any tickets for over two years.

I half won't believe a show is truly coming until they load it in to my theater. There's gonna be schedule changes for a while.

San Francisco:
Touring shows are a crapshoot, and things have already changed at the old SHN, now BroadwaySF.
Mean Girls was going to start this summer but now it's not "due to ongoing complications from the pandemic." It's being replaced by Jesus Christ Superstar, which presumably is the same tour that was headed around the country and which I saw in San Jose a couple of years ago.
The first show at the Orpheum, maybe, will be My Fair Lady, which would be a fine first major show to get, That's in November.
As ACT isn't staring live performances until 2022, the BroadwaySF folks are having a production of A Christmas Carol in December.
January will theoretically bring one of the first touring productions I haven't seen, The Band's Visit at the Golden Gate.
And then there's a long lag at the Orpheum and Golden Gate until June, when Hadestown is scheduled. The Oklahoma! tour follows in August, and To Kill a Mockingbird and Moulin Rouge! in September. The "season" wraps up in November with Ain't Too Proud, which originally premiered at the Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway.
Speaking of the Berkeley Rep, their website says they plan to start their 2021-22 season in the fall. The season has three musicals, an unusually high number, including one with a book by Jocelyn Bioh (of School Girls fame), Dave Malloy's Octet, and a musical called Swept Away with songs by The Avett Brothers and direction by Michael Mayer.
Malloy's Great Comet is still supposed to get a West Coast premiere at Shotgun Players, a small Berkeley theater where several of his musicals premiered a little earlier in his career.
I have no clue about the situation at the Curran, where I presume Harry Potter will resume at some point - in one or two shows.
The San Francisco Playhouse has several plays starting June 8. They appear to be starting first. The website says masks and social distancing are required (Translation: every other row will be empty). No mention of proof of vaccination one way or the other.
Edited to add: Hamilton is returning to wrap up its San Francisco run before moving on.

What's up with the Les Mis tour ? I assume it's not coming back and CamMack will put out his "staged concert " on Broadway or on tour ?? He mentioned a in 2019 he wanted it to come here

I forgot about San Jose.
Broadway San Jose:
- Hamilton (three weeks in October - not sure which tour)
- Hairspray (Thanksgiving week, replacing Anastasia)
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (January 2022)
- Rent (for a few days in April 2022)
- Tootsie (later in April 2022)
- Dear Evan Hansen (a couple of weeks in June 2022)
- Come From Away (a week in July 2022)
The biggest surprise is the scheduling of a week of 1776 in May 2023. This hasn't been scheduled to play in San Francisco yet, something that would never happen in the SHN days.
No indication of when the San Jose Stage will start in-person performances.
Got a message from the Durham Performing Arts Center that 1776 will now play Broadway before touring. Its engagement at DPAC has been replaced by A Christmas Story.
