I'm somewhat loathe to add fuel to the fire, but for the record, I actually had to google "shill" to find out what the haters were shouting about.
Sorry to disappoint, I'm just a fan. And, planning to see the show again in 2 weeks.
ps, thanks for chiming in with the support "iamdangoodman"

Posted: 3/7/09 at 1:38pmI saw this last night. I'm not going to discuss the show itself but I did want to get back to the part of the conversation with marknyc regarding amplification. My friend who is working on the show confirms that there are floor mikes and shotgun mikes "all over" (his words).

Posted: 3/7/09 at 2:11pmThe show is wonderful and very moving. I think that Susan Kellerman was terrific and deserves a Tony nod. Jane was marvelous-incandescent and tragic all at once. Susan was a warm, authentic and grounding prescence in a piece about disconnection. I loved the play.

Posted: 3/7/09 at 4:16pmIt took me awhile to warm up to her, and I have to say she was my least favorite....but I didn't DISLIKE her. She just seemed "too big" for the rest of the acting....if that makes any sense.

I totally agree with this. I saw it yesterday, and at first, she seemed almost inexperienced with stage acting to me, but halfway through the first act, she suddenly improved and I started to like her.
Definitely loved the show, though, and I will go back and see it again.

For a while she seemed to be ACTING (in the Jon Lovitch kind of way on SNL), while everyone else (sans the Beethoven characters that should have been bigger than life) was subtle and realistic.
Since I saw this the first week of previews I would LOVE to see it again for the changes....but with so many other things I want to see, I don't know if that's possible before it closes.
