Wow. Two moves. When was the last time you saw that happen?

Good for them. It's nice to see a straight play doing this well on Broadway.

I really want to see this, but I wonder if it would be better in the Helen Hayes?

Save your money. Get the original Hitchcock classic on DVD.

Good for them! The CORT is a bad fit, which is why they don't sell the balcony at all.

Even though I didn't really like it, I agree that it's fantastic a play is doing this well. I think it stands a real chance of lasting much longer at the Helen Hayes.

This is fantastic news! It's great to see that this show is going to have such a great life.
I didn't even anticipate it running this long.

Good for them for being so persistent about this show.

CHICAGO opened at the Richard Rodgers, I believe.

Really? Wait, it opened there? How long was it there and when did it move to the Shubert? I thought it opened at the Shubert.

Chicago got kicked out of the Richard Rodgers for Steel Pier.

It opened at the Richard Rodgers on November 14, 1996 and ran there until February 9, 1997. It opened at the Shubert on February 11, 1997 and ran there until January 26, 2003. It's been at the Ambassador since January 29, 2003.

It is good to see that this show is doing so well and that it is able to transfer twice. I think that it would do better at the Hayes then at the cort.
Chicago did play the Shubert after Big closed. But the Gypsy revival at the shubert kicked out Chicago thus forcing them to move to their current home.

For 'The 39 Steps' the smaller the theatre the better, as in it's original London production.
Criterion Theatre, London. 585 aprx
Cort Theatre. 1084 aprx
Helen Hayes. 597 aprx
The Helen Hayes is perfect for this show

It's like the show with nine lives! I haven't seen it, but good for them for sticking around this long!

Terrific! Great size for this show. I am constantly amazed at how well it's been doing--I was surprised that it was still open when I saw it in late June (a Thursday night and the Cort was packed, btw), and the fact that it's still going strong now is good news. I'm sure it will do even better at the Hayes.

'The Woman In Black' has played 4 different theatres in London.
'Run For Your Wife' ran in 6 different theatres.
'Fame' played 3 theatres!
......the list goes on!
Transfers happen a lot more in London than in New York.

Wow, great news! I've never heard about a show moving TWICE...and within a year. I'm so happy to see a play doing such great business. But I thought Slava's Snow Show was going in there? Or is that a limited run?
