The View is on now...they usually save the performances 'til the end but apparently the cast will be performing in this episode!

Thanks! I almost forgot. I am watching right now. :)
What song would they perform w/ Marc Kudisch (who is supposedly there)? "Shine Like the Sun"? i know they couldn't do all three Dream sequences... or they could if they were cut down. But that would kind of spoil the show. lol.

Thank goodness schools are closed here today...I actually got to watch this live!
Good performances.
Well, I give the producing team credit for getting them out there. If that won't sell tickets, I don't know what will. They basically spent a half hour of The View on 9 TO 5...really smart and the performance was great which doesn't hurt.
I still stand by my thought that this show will become a big hit, regardless of the reviews.
What song(s) did they perform? Were all three women there along with Dolly? Who was interviewed?
Thanks!
They did "Shine Like The Sun;" Dolly was interviewed before the performance and then they interviewed Dolly, Stephanie, Marc, Allison, and Megan after the performance.
Can't wait to watch it on my DVR tonight!
It was an awesome performance, and Dolly is awesome. But Barbara Walters has gone wacko. She kept babbling on and I think she forgot for a minute that Dolly actually wrote the song "9 to 5" as well. But it was a great segment.
I thought it was wonderful. Really great exposure for the show.
I was in class! I hope the interview(s)/performance are online soon
Well, somebody spent some dough. Like 3 or 4 set changes and flying! Looked and Sounded great, people who say Allison Janney can't sing are whack. She's no Maria Callas, but she is musical.
I am confused about when this was filmed. Friday VIEW shows are filmed Thursday, but Dolly said that Jane couldn't make the opening because of her own show, but then said she did walk the red carpet.
I did love the clips of the Women backstage with their film counterpoints out of town.
waht clips
As they spoke about the original film and if the cast came to see the musical or not, they showed (muted) clips of Hilty and Block backstage in S.F. with Tomlin and Fonda.
Ok, so I haven't seen the show yet, but what was going on with Allison Janney on the ladder? I'm assuming she was like rigging up the rope to hoist Hart up or something. I just couldn't help but laugh because it looked like she was installing an overhead projector. And then I couldn't get that image out of my head, lol.
Great performance though. Megan Hilty really really shines. And Dolly was adorable in her interview and I loved her outfit. I wish so much luck to the show and everyone involved.
I wish it was on youtube.
Check out this great site: http://theyaketyyak.blogspot.com/
He posts the entire episodes of Ellen and The View every day...he already has a screencap of today's interview up so I'm sure the performance/interviews will be up shortly...he usually gets them up before 4PM.
Thanks!
I thought it was a strong performance. I love Alllison Janney and although she may have the weakest voice (in her defense- she said she has never sung in public and she's in the same show as Stephanie- no pressure there)- she sounded great with the others. She moves well too and her stage presence is fantastic!
Some vids are up now on that blog ROCKS posted. I love this cast.
Ok, so I haven't seen the show yet, but what was going on with Allison Janney on the ladder?
She's taking... something or other out of the garage door opener, that's what the characters supposedly use to hoist Hart into the air.
Great Videos....And I am not going to Lie there is something about Alison's musicality that is really nice. She blends very well and it goes to show you don;t have to be that string of a singer to be a lead on Broadway
I thought it was great! Loved Megan's lyric change since they had to take out the "tits" part, haha.
I think that if they keep up promotion like this, the show can last despite the bad reviews.
I was actually at the taping of this. We stood in the stand by line at 7 am and got in to see it. It was a blast! The View gave away tickets to the show to the entire audience!!!
Videos are now on youtube. Part One:
