Posted: 7/25/09 at 6:13pmHow has it been lately? I'm thinking of trying it to help my cousins on Thursday night. Has it been very crowded? Are any of the lotto seats full view?

Posted: 7/25/09 at 9:15pmThe notion that everyone always wins is most definitely not true. Better odds than most lottos, but there are still plenty of losers.

Posted: 7/25/09 at 10:30pmI did it last Saturday night. There were 3 of us playing for one ticket and two of our names were called. There were still very many losers.

Posted: 7/26/09 at 12:37amI didn't win tonight, but not many people didn't win. He seemed to pick ones that weren't folded if that helps. The first time me and my friend won. But it wasn't that crowded tonight for a Saturday night and they have 38 tickets. I think you have a good chance. They are partial view up the sides, you really just miss the screen in the background, but nothing big.

Posted: 7/26/09 at 11:54amthe lotto seats for 9 to 5 are on the sides of the orchestra starting in the front row. YES they are better than Shrek. I won the lotto for 9 to 5 once and I was in the front row, one seat over from the aisle, and I could see everything PERFECTLY. Infinitely better than the Shrek lotto seats yes. It's not true that everyone wins.. There have been lots of people the few times I've played.

Bump!
Has anyone done the 9 to 5 lottery recently or since the closing was announced? What is the liklihood of winning on a weeknight? Thanks

The info is only a week old. Doesn't get much more current than that.
They aren't getting a rush of people coming to see it as a last opportunity. Attendance DROPPED this week. (granted, not by much).

I did the lotto for 9 to 5 for the Sunday matinee. it was POURING, but that didnt stop people from doing the lotto. there were LOTS of people there. i was very surprised actually. there were 4 other people with me, so I had 5 chances at winning tickets, and my name was the only one called. I saw many people walk away without tickets.
When actually in the theatre, I was shocked at how filled it was. Granted, I didnt see how many people were in the balcony, but the groud floor was pretty much filled. The lotto seats are on the extreme sides of the first 10 rows of the theatre, but the seats were very good none the less. All I really missed was the lcd projections on the back wall of the stage. For $36.50, its certainly worth a shot!

Posted: 8/4/09 at 1:56pmTechnically, lotto is held at the box office on the street (just to prevent confusion from people entering the Marriott and traveling up to the second floor theatre looking for the lotto :))
#19re: 9 to 5 lotto?
Posted: 8/4/09 at 1:57pmYes it's held at the theater. Playbill will only list when it's not at the theater.

Posted: 8/4/09 at 1:59pmthat means the theatre was pretty full for a sunday matinee...that cant be normal can it? but the weekly capacity dropped this week as mentioned before...

Posted: 8/4/09 at 2:09pmAn extension into the notoriously unbusy September, when quite a few new shows will be opening? Yeah... I don't think so.
#23re: 9 to 5 lotto?
Posted: 8/4/09 at 2:13pmHighly unlikely with this short notice -- extending a show that has announced a closing is rare. And the September slump looming for every show.
