I ended up with a couple of free third row seats for the tour of A Chorus Line this evening.

I saw the tour with the original cast for this tour..and tonight most of the new folks blew me away. ESPECIALLY Robyn Hurder, Bethany Moore and Rebecca Riker. All three were simply incredible as Cassie, Judy and Diana respectively.

The rest of the cast were mostly the same folks I saw in Cleveland back in October.

The performances across the board were on point and definitely not phoned in whatsoever.

Seriously if this comes near you at ALL and you're a fan of the show, this cast is not to be missed.

anything you do let it come from you and it will be new.

I've seen the tour twice, both times with Robyn Hurder, and I agree. Her dancing and acting put her up there with the best Cassies I have ever seen, and I'm usually very critical. Both times I saw her with Sebastian La Cause as Zach and their chemistry was excellent. How is the new Zach?

I actually really enjoyed him. I am really partial to anyone who REALLY gets into the "frustration" of Zach especially during the One dialogue with Cassie. The "Is this really what you want?!" line has to be delivered with a ton of emotion for me and the new Zach came through on that.

Robin Hurder was wonderful and terribly sexy. Probably the sexiest Cassie I have ever seen. Voluptuous, thrilling, moving and a terrific dancer.

I would have killed to have seen Sebastian. He left shortly before our stop on the tour. I thought it was a great tour too. Glad you enjoyed.

I agree that this tour is not to be missed. I saw it twice in Cincinnati, and was completely blown away. Every single performance was just wonderful. It was also my first time seeing the show and it is definitely one of my top musicals now. It was one of the best experiences I've had in the theatre. Go see it now.

(Maybe I'll try and make it to Columbus to see it again...)

I've said it in other threads about the tour: I enjoyed it much more than I enjoyed the Broadway revival, for a variety of reasons.

See for me... the revival cast will always have a very special place in my heart because that cast is what drew me into the show to begin with and I really do think that there are some really good performances from the revival cast. But opinions are just that :)

I can imagine that the cast that most people see the first time they see the show .. is the cast they'll always love. Simply because the way the show is designed for you to really "step on stage" with these folks.

Oh Michael .. we miss your brilliance.

Rob, how cool is that?! I saw it at the Ohio Theatre last night too (orchestra left side). I loved the Diana. She was great--so heartfelt in both of her songs. And Kevin McCready was the best Zach I've ever seen. I totally bought the Zach-Cassie past for the first time. He and Robin Hurder made that real and you could really understand how Zach was both for and against Cassie at the same time. Normally Zach comes off as a cold-hearted jerk or someone totally frigid and uninvolved to the point that he doesn't care about the people audtioning for him, but I like the fact that Kevin McCready gives him a bit of a heart. His treatment of Cassie and especially Paul really showed that. Robin Hurder was extremely good as Cassie. I've seen Charlotte and Laurie Gamache in the role and liked both of them but Hurder brought a different quality, a different strength and sensuality to the role. And boy could she should sing the hell out of MATM!

Overall it was a really enjoyable performance!
