I would love to see disney try something like Pete's Dragon. There are some great numbers in that movie and some really great characters too.
After Beauty and the beast (the most musical film), Lion King, Little Mermaid and the next year Hunchaback.......Disney will make ALADDÍN musical.
A Whole new world with the carpet would be spectacular.

They can't mess that up, unless they start it off like Kiss the Girl, with the setting already set, rather then having it come onto the stage slowly as the song begins.
I would like Disney to try a show we didn't already know by heart.
Something original!
And NEW.
*gasp*
Enough with the "catalog" musicals. They bore me.
I saw the shortened Aladdin musical at the Disney California Adventure theme park a couple of years ago and it was pretty good. Aladdin and Jasmine fly over the audience on a carpet and everything. It was awesome.
But I actually think if Disney must make another musical out of their catalog that Mulan would be the best bet. Except Donny Osmond can't be in it. I'm sure after Tarzan and Aida they've at least brought the idea up to David Henry Hwang. Who knows if he'd do it though.
I wish Disney would do something like "Aida" again. Even if Aida was not new, it was a fresh new take on it from Disney.
PETE'S DRAGON and an English adaptation of DER GLOCKNER VON NOTRE DAME are the only shows I am interested in from Disney, other than original material.
I feel Mulan would make a great transition over to Broadway! The music is gorgeous, the story is something that adults can take seriously, and just imagine seeing a chinese inspired set design...can you say FABULOUSLY GORGEOUS!!

I really think Hercules would make a great transition to the broadway stage. Think about all those great songs the muses sing. They would bring the house down. :)
I'd like to see Hunchback, Aladdan, Hercules, or Newsies.
I'm still REALLY hoping for Aladdin! It's always been my favorite Disney movie of all time. Seeing it on Broadway, in my opinion, would be incredible!
Aladdin and Hercules are two of my favorites that I would love to see. However, I also wouldn't mind seeing an Enchanted musical as well. I love that movie! Saw it five times already!
In this order.
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Mulan
Hercules
Aladdin (MAYBE)

I saw finding nemo at disney. The show is horrible too long and just too bad could not wait for it to be over.
I really would like to see Pete's Dragon Time to put the princesses on hold at let a boy have a chance.
The movie has great songs like candle on the water, dragon dragon, theres room for eveyone in this world.
And just think of the cool ways they could make the dragon.
So Disney if you read these posts Give Pete a chance.
HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (completely redone from all previous endeavors)
HERCULES
SLEEPING BEAUTY
Pete's Dragon would be great.
It's not the best-known of the Disney movies so it would be different... and they could have a giant lighthouse onstage for "Candle On The Water."
It'd be great to see Helen Reddy as Nora but I doubt that would happen... hehe
HERCULES, with gosspel music.

I would love to see Nightmare Before Christmas as a limited engagement holiday run like The Grinch.
I was trying to post last night with "Nightmare Before Christmas" but the site wouldn't let me
Anyway... that would be an awesome show year round in my opinion.
According to a recent interview with Alan Menken, there are healthy talks among Disney 'suits' to bring HUNCHBACK much, much sooner than later (on account of the popular demand, etc., etc.), and there is also speculation about a possible full-on stage adaptation of ALADDIN for the Great White Way, as well as, the potential of NEWSIES. Not much else was mentioned about 'the future', just that this is some stuff Disney is heavily, heavily considering for now. =)
