This is the biggest show opening this fall. And I'm including Ragtime.
Ugh, why do I have to be broke?
When I get back to the States you can bet that this is the first production for me to get a ticket to. I'll go into a couple hundred dollars of debt to see Lansbury and Zeta-Jones live. Hope it's well received and running in March when I'm back.

Cheers,

Christopher

The seat selection is pitiful. They're holding back ridiculous blocks of seats, when the closest I can get is Row N.

How did you get Row N? I searched all performances in January and after about 10 tries, all they would give me is Rows R or S.

Make with the good tickets Telecharge!!

I came across several dates in February with very good seat selections. I'm going on the 14th, 3rd row center... Counting down already!
I feel totally jipped if you were able to get row N.

I bought my tickets AMEX pre sale and got Preferred AMEX seating in F*cking row N of the center orch.

Telecharge is a crock. Honestly. I've worked box office before. They act like everything is out of their control. It's a GD SEAT with a peice of paper to get in. I wish they'd stop acting like I'm trying to buy Gold Bars from Herrods of London.

I'm assuming that the tickets you get from Telecharge and going to the box office result the same options?

I've searched through most of January for center orchestra and I'm still only getting last two rows of the center orchestra. Will they release new tickets when the box office opens?

Why do I have a feeling much better seats will be released if people just wait a bit?
Agreed, Millie. That's almost always the case, especially with shows with big names attached like this. The worst seats are always sold first. This was the case with EQUUS with Radcliffe. When sales didn't take off as expected, the better seats were released for regular (full, non-premium) price, and eventually to discount code price. Always buy your tickets at the last minute if you can, because that is usually the way to get the best seats. But at least wait a bit past the "on sale date" to start purchasing.

I'm calling Zeta-Jones and telling her to tell the producers to release the tickets or she'll be singing Send in the Customers to an empty house.
I'm really fighting with myself over whether or not to get a ticket in advance! I know I don't have the money to buy a full price ticket, but I still want to! I think I'll hold for a little longer and see what happens.
All that I was finding for the orchestra on the day that I can go were far back and way on the side, but I did find second row center mezz on the aisle, and I'm content with that.

Kind of funny that you'd give ticket-buying advice, Foster, given how you rarely, if ever, pay for your theater tickets.

Better seats have now been released.
Adamgreer, not sure if you mean that in a friendly way, but I remember I bought my ticket to WEST SIDE STORY in advanced and had okay seats, WannaBe bought his a couple hours before the show and he got such good seats that I ended up moving to seat next to him for the second act.
Always buy your tickets last minute.
I cannot wait for the day after Thanksgiving:

Ragtime for the matinee
ALNM for the evening

(Terrible seats for both, but I don't even care!)

there are still a lot of seats available, even for the first preview.. u think they'll wind up throwing this show on TDF?
adamgreer - I rarely ever pay for my theatre tickets, but I'd like to think I can give good advice on purchasing theatre tickets.

Anyone know anything about a rush/lottery policy?

They are not planning a discount, rush, or lotto.

Standing Room will start Dec. 15th, but apparently it will only be valid for students.

P.S, I highly doubt it will go on TDF. The balcony is sold out for the first preview, and I highly doubt they will sell $132/$102 seats for $36.50 on TDF. Very unlikely.

		     			Questions about standing room:

1. Where do you stand? (lol) i.e. how far away etc.... (back of orchestra? Balcony? I have no idea obviously

2. Is it only available when performance is sold out?

MOST places won't sell SRO seats until they are sold out. (Kind of the reason for the term: Standing Room ONLY)
