I-I don't wanna know your name
Cause you don't look the same
The way you did before
OK you think you got a pretty face
But the rest of you is out of place
You looked all right before

Fox on the run
You screamed and everybody comes a-running
Take a run and hide yourself away
Fox on the run
F-foxy, foxy on the run and hideaway

You-you talk about just every band
But the names you drop are second hand
I've heard it all before
I don't wanna know your name
Cause you don't look the same
The way you did before
(repeat chorus)

To get this to be 'on topic', why don't we discuss Bert Lahr's triumphant performance in FOXY.

Fox hunting is an issue about tradition to those distingushed enough to have grown up with this as a past time. It's been passed down and practiced for generations by The Lords and other Aristocracy of Britain. It initially was a sport of survival where foxs had to be exterminated to save the livestock funnily enough. This developed into an event where those of finer breeding gathered to luncheon... women were only allowed to participate in the actual fox hunting during late Victorian times.

I suppose the question is, should a tradition that steeped in history be allowed to continue regardless of the animals rights? Personally I don't give a s**t. Have you any idea how much of the english tax payers time and money has been wasted through arguing this case with Parliment not to mention the appeal to the House Of Lords? I'll tell you Englands tired of it and I'm tired of it. There has been plenty of more pressing issues brought to the table such as childrens rights and the failings of social services in protecting children and EVERY time this Fox issue is brought to the table it pushes back the cases at hand in order to satisfy those invovled and public curiosity. As Sir Bob Geldof said in a recent tv interview for fathers rights to custody of children " The goverment cares more about f**king foxs more then it does about fathers".

So to put it bluntly folks, public curiosity on the issue has pushed back the more important issues needing to be addressed. Jeremy Irons can at least thank his lucky stars he is not a father fighting for the right to see his child once a month nor is he a child being abused whilst under social service protection. For his sins he hunts foxs so get over it and put that agression towards something that deserves it.

Audryna: Even though it may not be an important issue to you, to animal rights activists like myself (and presumably WISHIHADATONY,) it is damn important. To just say "get over it" shows that you truly don't have the heart to understand why this issue is really being debated. If you think it's a matter of tradition, why not just follow every tradition that's ever been established in the United States, no matter who or what it violates? That is a pointless argument and it will get you no where. Put that agression towards something that deserves it? You've put just as much agression into your post about why we shouldn't care about foxes being brutally murdered as WISHIHADATONY had in his initial post - so that point got you no where. Instead of lecturing us, put that effort into something really important...like fathers, since that interests you so much.

Give me a break. Who are you to come on here and tell us what is and what is not deserving of our time and efforts? Please.

A child in Norfolk county died under the hands of a foster parent as the social services did not have the resources to check she was cared for properly. Something that was due to come under review BUT for the issue of foxes.

The child mattered more than the fox. So I repeat... get over it.

Now people, animal rights and prevention of cruely to animal are perfectly reasonable topics. Fox hunting, bull fighting, cockfighting, etc, etc, are very cruel. But, being willing to dismiss an actors contibutions to the world of entertainment based on his views on these matters seems a bit over the top.

sometimes, being "over the top" can stop horrible things from happening...........
Black people used to be enclosed in America--most non blacks seemed to have thought that fine, and would balk at anyone suggesting that black people were human in years past

Jewish people used to be "banned" in certain areas of America.....in the south, pools commonly had signs that said "no dogs or Jews allowed." Needless to say, most of the civilized world stoodby while millions of Jews, gay people, Gypsies, etc.. were slaughtered in Nazi Germany.

Women used to be not allowed to vote in America and hitting them was considered ok and a private family matter. It was also fine to not offer women work and to pay them less than men, etc.

PASSIONATE, hardworking leaders helped to change all of these conditions.

Traditionally, theater people, especially actors, are very often rather emotional and passionate people, in general. I am very passionate about helping any human being or any living creature in peril. I have been for many decades.

Singular people CAN and do MAKE a difference. You just have to devote the time and energy and if you can, money. The way the world is run and the decisions that are made every day that effect the way people live,,,,,well, to begin with, those types of decisions are made by those who, if nothing else, simply, "show up." Those who "show up" get to vote at the Board meetings and make a difference. Those who show up at the voting booths, show up and vote and make a difference.

We only get one life in this world. Why not try living that one life with caring and compassion for other people and living creatures?

"Hunting is stupid and should be banned everywhere. Period. What purpose does it serve anyway?"

Population Control. If a species overpopulates an area not just a few will starve and die off, they will ALL starve and be malnourished. It has it's uses... Sacrifice a few for the greater good of the species in an area.
