Just an update on prices; as I had thought should be done, signed Playbills are now $60 each or two for $100. At this price they are now selling extremely well! Posters are still $300 each.
At the auction tonight Hugh Jackman revealed that he was wearing stripper tassels on his undershirt and proceeded to shake them vigorously! LOL And Daniel Craig had drawn a pair of boobs on his shirt! The shirts went at auction for a staggering $10,000 EACH!! For a total of $20,000. Unbelievable!

Wow - the occasional 5 digit-figures for undershirts boggle the mind
I have my signed poster now - a kind friend took care of getting one and shipping it overseas for me. I like the way that Hugh and Daniel signed their names by the title of the show, thus leaving the melded images unmarred. Excellent memorabilia of the show!
It looks like they have added a special charity benefit performance in the evening of December 6, 2009 and this will be the final performance of the play at the Schoenfeld. I wonder if they will still be doing the auctions then, as the performance is supposed to be a charity event by itself, benefiting the NYC Police Benevolent Association's Fund for Widows and Children and another Children's Charity?

Posted: 11/15/09 at 8:17amThanks for the update - Hugh and Daniel had the same stuff on their shirts for the Actor's Fund performance last week. And I think the Nov. 14 show was also a benefit for Chicago Dramatists who originated the play and where the playwright is attached.

"And I think the Nov. 14 show was also a benefit for Chicago Dramatists who originated the play and where the playwright is attached."
The 14th was Saturday. Since it was a two show day, neither was a benefit performance. As for the reduction in Playbill prices, that must have changed during the evening performance, because at the Matinee they were still charging $100.00.

I got that info at the link below - it was also reported on BWW.
CHICAGO DRAMATISTS CELEBRATES A SPECIAL CHICAGO NIGHT ON BROADWAY
Chicago Dramatists will host a one evening only benefit at the November 14th performance of A STEADY RAIN in New York City
CHICAGO , IL â?? Chicago Dramatists has a special block of orchestra tickets on reserve to A STEADY RAIN, the hottest upcoming Broadway show starring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman and directed by Tony-Award nominee John Crowley. With stars of this caliber, tickets are in high demand, but Chicago Dramatists will be hosting a benefit performance on November 14th. A STEADY RAIN, the smash hit production by Chicago Dramatists Resident Playwright, Keith Huff, thrilled audiences during its two critically and publicly acclaimed runs in Chicago and will open in New York City this September.
The benefit for Chicago Dramatists, the creative force behind the successful production, will be held on Saturday, November 14th at 8:00 p.m. at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, 236 West 45th Street, New York, NY. Tickets for this exclusive performance of A STEADY RAIN are $200 each, with a portion of the proceeds directly benefiting Chicago Dramatists, the only theatre in the country that is both a playwrightsâ?? development center and a full producing theatre. Tickets, including a pre-show cocktail party, are also available for $250. To reserve your tickets to the special Chicago affair on Broadway or for more information on donations, contact Cynthia Frahm at 312-633-0630 or cfrahm@chicagodramatists.org.

Fan2 -
An acquaintance who saw the evening performance on November 14 said she happened to talk to a lady from Chicago after the show. The lady said that she was a friend of playwright Keith Huff and even said that Keith couldn't make it to the event ( obviously referring to the benefit show for Chicago Dramatists) because he was busy working on the movie screenplay adaptation of the play. Hopefully, the movie version is coming sooner than we think and that the original cast remains.

Posted: 11/16/09 at 12:23amIt wasn't a benefit performance. The group bought tickets to sell for a special event to its members, but it was a regularly ticketed performance that anyone could have purchased tickets to. There are benefit groups attendng the show all the time.

Posted: 11/21/09 at 1:36pmA STEADY RAIN has now officially raised over $1 million for BC/EFA. With two weeks left, I expect them to reach around $1,500,000.

Thanks!
They are indefatigable fundraisers! I wonder if the finale performance will also include a pitch for BC/EFA or will it be devoted to the two charities that are being sponsored that evening?

Posted: 11/23/09 at 10:08pmI know that the last day of the charity event for Broadway cares is on Nov 28th. So does this mean that on Dec 6th they will go back to signing and taking pictures outside the SD? Thanks

Posted: 11/24/09 at 12:35amWell, actually the last day for the BC/EFA collections is Sunday Dec 6, the same day A STEADY RAIN finishes it's run, so I would say that the policy regarding autographs at the stage door will continue til the end.

Oh is the 6th the last day for the charity?

It went to two for a combined $20,000 the night I went too (Friday Nov 20). I was flabbergasted. Hugh and Daniel were adorable about it though, I'm not surprised that they've already raised a million.
And just a sidenote, my cute little mom got a free hug from Daniel Craig because it was her birthday and I asked him to give her one, lol.

Posted: 11/24/09 at 11:53amI bought two signed Playbills this past Sunday, but paid $120, not $100. I'm not quibbling, mind you, I'm glad to do my part for BC/EFA.
