A Time To Kill Banner Ads

Has anyone seen the banner ads for A TIME TO KILL? I've seen them on NYtimes.com and Playbill. They are HORRIBLE. They look so low rent, the production quality in the video is laughable. I get that they are going for a cinematic effect, but oh my... what a laughable result!

Their logo/poster is hideous. Looks like a cheap novel you'd buy at a gas station.

I haven't seen the video, but I like the simplicity of the logo. It kind of harkens back to the covers of his novels. I wish though that there were scales on it, like this:

If I had a choice about it though, I probably would have gone with a design more like the film:
