Been attending shows for almost 50 years and certainly can recognize a true standing ovation- Little Shop got two real standing ovations from almost every person in the audience with bravos to match. Have not see anything close to that in a long time, except for Hairspray's leads. I would bet on Little Shop running a long time, get your tix now.

Lou, did you notice if any of the people who were giving the ovations ran right out to the box office and bought tickets to see the show again? I've heard that's been happening, and as far as I know, that's an unprecedented phenomenon.

I've heard that the finale is something called "You Can't Stop The Beat".

Why do I get the strong impression that LouW95 is somehow connected with the publicity staff for LITTLE SHOP? Has he ever posted another message here?

Every play I saw this year got a standing ovation. Standing ovations have become very commonplace. Hairspray is the one show that I noted where when the audience left the theater they went back on the ticket line to buy more tickets.

In my performing days, ovations were rare, very rare!

I've told this story before, by on the opening night of BABES IN ARMS as Where or when, My Funny Valentine, Johnny One Note and Lady is a Tramp were introduced, the audience responded with friendly but not overwhelming applause!!!
