A View From The Bridge in Chicago

WOW! This was my first experience with this show. I thought everything about this production was great! The performances, the design, the direction, the ending, THE BARE FEET! So poignant and brilliantly portrayed!



For those who have seen the NY production and the "tour" are there any noticeable differences? Or did I just see the complete package?

I was in box 1. I got the 10TIX discount. Not a bad view at all, but I'm hoping to see it again so I can sit on stage.

I saw it on Thursday from the onstage seats on the right side. It was a great view the onstage seats were really comfortable and held Around 30-40 people on each side of the stage. I sat in the last row closest to the audience and found it a great view point For the show as u could see most of the action no matter were the actors were. The show itself was brillant, the staging and pace really made the 2hrs fly and the end scene was done so well. If i had the money and time i would see this production two more times as i feel u would see something new depending on where u sat.

I'm unfamiliar with the show (I know, I know) - would you recommend reading up on the plot/characters beforehand, or going in blind?

Happy to see such raves for this from the Chicago press! This is heart-stopping theatre: I have never, NEVER, seen a play before this that received such an audible reaction from the audience: uncomfortable murmurs, loud gasps, even some talking back to the characters ("F*cker!" was heard at one point in response to something Eddie did or said). Truly a magnificent production of a play, I admit, I never cared for much before. But this interpretation is riveting. See it!

Call_me_jorge said: "I was in the very front house right box and I didn't feel like I missed anything. So I'm sure the views from the other boxes are only better."

Jorge - I have never been to the Goodman but am encouraging my daughter to purchase student tickets for this weekend. Were you in a lower level or upper level box? Any thoughts about the last three rows of the Mezz versus the boxes? She would have loved a $20 stage seat, but those seem to be a thing of the past at this point.

Thank you for adding your experience. It's hard to picture the sight lines with some audience members seated on the stage, but you know -- for $10, it's going to be great no matter where she sits. Thanks again!

I saw this again at 2 and this time at sat onstage. It was truly a unique experience and being that close to the actors was wonderful. That final image was even more chilling this time around.

^there were many empty seats. Most of them were at the back of the mezz, but there also empty seats scattered in the orchestra section and onstage.

Just decided to purchase a $20 on-stage seat on TodayTix for tomorrow's show. Can't wait!
