I was always wanting to see the show, I knew it had gotten bad reviews, but I still would have seen the show. If I knew it was closing I would have seen it when I went to NYC last week. O well.

OMG there's an actual TEAM TARZAN?! My friend and I have a lot of inside jokes about Tarzan, (we never saw it because... it's Tarzan... but we'd say things like Psh, why would want to see Sweeney when we could see a gem like Tarzan!!) so in "honor" of closing we made TEAM TARZAN shirts (which we thought we made up) that said on the back "We're going to Holland" because of the producer's comment about how well Tarzan's production in Holland is doing...
So yeah, a real TEAM TARZAN? Huh...
Well, I just got home from seeing the final TARZAN performance, followed by some serious stage-dooring (I have NEVER seen that many people there - it was madness!). And all I can say is - wow. Every single performance by every single actor - ensemble included - was top-notch, and you could tell everyone on stage had a special energy tonight.
The audience went wild when each principle made his/her entrance, especially Josh, Chester, Merle, and Jenn. I don't even know what else to say except the entire performance was truly amazing and truly special. I'm so glad I was able to get a last-minute ticket to the show - and center orchestra row N, at that!
I stage-doored afterwards and was the first person out there so of course, I had a front-row 'seat'. Soon after I arrived at the door there were at least 300-400 people waiting around for autographs, and pictures. I was 'privileged' to be standing next to 'Team Tarzan' (and I say privileged lightly, because they were BEYOND irritating), who were hysterically crying the entire time!!! For every picture and every autograph!!! I love Josh and Jenn as much as the next person but come on...it really was ridiculous.
ANYWAY...the entire cast signed my program and couldn't have been nicer and more gracious. Donnie came out first and was SO nice - he even gave me a hug just because! And he is GORGEOUS I got all three little Tarzans to sign, as well as Merle, Jenn, Josh, Chester, Tim Jerome, Rob, and almost the whole ensemble minus a few who snuck out early.
I have a ton of pics, too, which I'll post a little later once they're downloaded. I also have some *other* pics (i.e. non-stage door pics) which I'll be happy to send if you PM me...
You don't accept PM's, lol!
damn, not sure why that setting changed (i just received a PM this morning!) - but it's all good now

i thought her final show was a couple of weeks ago
that's what I read too. That she wasn't going to make the final show because of wedding/honeymoon stuff.
Her final show was originally last week but she cut vacation short and came back to finish up the closing weekend.
she apparently ended her honeymoon early so she could do both shows today...and she was absolutely fantastic. i'm glad i was able to be in attendance tonight.
never mind..
i'm sure she was thrilled to be able to perform in the final show.

well she changed her plans so she could be there for the lincon center recording today. she didnt cut short her honeymoon just is starting it later, tomorrow.
I feel like ive spent the past three days outside or inside the Richard Rodgers. Closing was wonderful as always. There were no crazy antics and no speeches but lots of tears and an enthusiastic crowd. I was happy to be there for it.

Oh, I believe it.
Annoying little brats!
Try being beaten out of seeing Jenn for the last time in TARZAN by them.
Ugh, I'm sorry jess that you had to experience them as well.
Sorry you had to deal with them, jess. I tried my best and just avoided them on Saturday. I'm PMing you for thos pics
And yes, Jenn came back for the final 4 performances (Saturday & Sunday). I was so glad I got to see her!

"Team Tarzan" I believe is for the broadway show league where the cast plays softball in central park on Thursdays. And the cast likes the shirts and asks them to wear them.
The final show last night was amazing and really strong. The filmed for the archive during the matinee but I really think they should have done the night show b/c it was so much better. Emotional but really strong.

Yeah, someone said that on the Creepiest Fan thread.
They were so annoying.
I took these pictures, at first, I snapped the first picture, then they posed for the 2nd. Their shirts said random sayings, the girl whose shirt you can see best her's says: HE SWUNG FROM THE TREES NAKED. Very weird.
I've been travelling out of state and returned home on Friday night, but I was lucky enough to get some excellent tickets (Row D) for the final performance. It seemed that everyone around us has seen the show at least three times, including Bradley Bowers and his family who I thought was Dylan at first glance. They DO look alike! Needless to say, it was a hugely receptive house and the performances were the best I've seen yet. Many of the frequent flyers around us agreed that some had started out a little weak at the beginning, and the transformation has been amazing. All agreed that this is one of the hardest working ensembles on Broadway and I hope to see every name in anotehr Playbill by the end of the year.
The stage door afterward was a madhouse but, like the troopers they are, everyone came out and faced the crowd. Merle was taking pictures of the crowd which had to be over two hundred people. Jenn was leaving for her honeymoon at 5:30 this morning, but stayed until she had signed for everyone. Tim and Donnie were their usual personable selves and all three little guys signed and charmed the little girls as usual. Rob Evan remembered me from his first show, which was nice, we'd had a brief chat that night, and Josh sounds like he already has some projects in the works. Chester is working on his second CD, his first is awesome by the way (shameless plug!).
So, so long Tarzan, I'll miss you. I don't know where I'm going to go hide after a lousy day at work any more!
