It was during the Full Disclosure scene, and Jackie Hoffman finished the part about a total body makeover. Then she said something like, that's right I'm turning the clock back. Turn the clock back. Before you go to sleep tonight, turn the clock back. She cracked up while saying it, and of course various cast members laughed as well. The most noticeable was "Uncle Fester" though. He was hiding his face covering up his tear of laughter. That was a nice surprise, and it was nice to see the house completely full!
Had to add something on here. Does anybody know how they do the part with the tassel after Nathan hits it with the sword?

Posted: 11/7/10 at 2:13pmShe ad-libbed something at that point the night I saw it as well, and it made Nathan and Kevin lose it to the point that they had to turn away from the audience.

Posted: 11/7/10 at 2:17pmDoesn't she ad-lib every night? When I saw the show no one at the table could hold it together. It was the highlight of an otherwise bleak show.

Posted: 11/7/10 at 2:31pmShe kind of stopped ad-libbing every night now and lately she's been trying to crack everyone up while she's trying to say "full disclosure" after her line about chowing down a grandma sandwhich. When the show first opened, she changed the lines nightly.

Posted: 11/7/10 at 2:56pmAddams Family may be many things, but bleak it ain't. It's a fun night out. If you're looking for bleak, I suggest you head for Bloody Andrew. (Bleak = no redeeming merit)

Posted: 11/7/10 at 3:23pmI meant bleak as in uninspired. It was miserable for me to sit through it thinking of how much wasted talent and potential there was on stage. Just my opinion.

Wow. Someone has some serious credibility issues suggesting BBAJ has "no redeeming merit" (not exactly the definition of "bleak" btw) while praising "Addams Family."
:-o

Because those comments had anything to do with the topic at hand.
BBAJ has plenty of merit and plenty of substance. It's ok if you don't like it though -- just like it's ok if someone didn't like Addams Family.

When I saw it back in July she said something about Mel Gibson and how he seemed like a great guy.
Bebe and Nathan were in stitches.

I can't remember what Jackie Hoffman said when i seen it, all i remember Is Bebe staring at the table, and Nathan putting his hands to his face as if he was praying...and when Jackie finished her ad-lib, Bebe let out a looong low giggle that just went on and on, Nathan lost it either at the low gigle or the ad-lib and it was just them both giggling, while Jackie hobbled back to her seat.
It's deffinately a highlight of the show! A long with a few songs and Morticia and Gomez moments for me.

Didn't see the question til just now. I think it's on a stick. From the orchestra, you can sometimes see the rod under the curtain guiding it off.
Have you really seen it 30 times?

Posted: 11/8/10 at 7:29pmYes, it has been 30 times! Saturday night was my 30th and I capped it off with going to Lane's dressing room and it was great! Thanks for answering my question. It must happen so quick, I've never seen the stick under the curtain. I know it's on a stick for the top of act 2, but I've never seen it in the other scene. Thanks again!

Posted: 11/8/10 at 7:33pmIt is a rod puppet on an L shaped rod. You can see the feet of the puppeteer through the fringe of the curtain. The curtain is raised just enough for there to be about 1/2 inch off the stage floor allowing the puppeteer to operate it off stage.

Posted: 11/8/10 at 8:15pmI'm trying to picture this now. So if the rod goes goes under the curtain, how come we don't see it?

This is so typical of the show that pandering built. Congratulations on your 30th viewing?
Basil's puppets are sweet, can't argue that.

Posted: 11/9/10 at 12:26pmI don't think I've ever met anyone who saw a Broadway show more than 2-3 times. 30?!? How much have you spent on the show by now? Did you ever get a comp?

Posted: 11/9/10 at 5:51pmThe first time was premium, the next 28 were regular price and the last two were comped. So, I still spent a good amount, but I look at it this way; "you only live once"!
