Debra Messing as Wildcat Jackson in a revival of the 1960 musical WILDCAT
Robert Downey Jr. as FIORELLO
James Anest as Lancelot in CAMELOT
Patti LuPone as Countess Aurelia in DEAR WORLD

Tammy Blanchard as Vicki Lester (Esther Blodgett) in A STAR IS BORN (if it ever makes it to Broadway)

Yes!! I love all those!!!
I don't usually do mental casting, but I would kill to see Sutton Foster take a stab at Reno Sweeney. IMO, she would be perfect.

Shuler Hensley as Sweeney Todd.
Emma Thompson as Desiree.
And though it'll never happen in any universe because he hates stage performance- Hugh Laurie as Higgins.

Does Sutton Foster have the legit soprano notes for Lilli in Carnival? I've only ever heard her belt, so I honestly don't know.
Honestly, no matter who was doing it, I don't think I want to see a revival of Carnival. I can not get past that book. I've done the show, and I just can't see how you can play Lilli as anything but a step above a severe mental handicap in order for the "revelation" at the end to come off even remotely plausible.
You should try and get Gavin Creel into 'Mary Poppins' before the 'Godspell' producers find any money. I'm just sayin'.
(Also I'd love to see Clive Wood as Claudius, and the knowledge that he's already done it and I missed it makes me a sad panda. )
Leigh Ann Larkin in any starring role. Period.
Stupidbeans, why do you think I'm on crack? Meryl would make a GREAT film Rose.

EVERYTHING on that list was crazy sirnotappearing
Kate Shindle as Elphaba.
Leigh Ann Larkin as Glinda (or in anything after Gypsy closes asap)
Cheyenne Jackson as Fiyero (although that is way too small of a role for him).
Laura Benanti as Eliza Doolittle (as she expressed she wanted to do in an interview).
David Burnham as Tony in WSS.
Stephanie J. Block as Mama Rose in 20-30 years.
I also agree with Meryl Streep taking on the role.
Kristin Chenoweth in anything (she needs to get her tiny butt back to broadway!).

you made casting desicions that made no sense. It's more than just, can they sing that, it is also, do they have that personality, and your pesonalities didn't fit

Patti Lupone as Mame. There is something wrong with the world if it doesn't happen at some point.
I third Sherrie as The Witch.
stupidbeans, instead of knocking everyone else's suggestions how about coming up with some of your own?

God I completely agree with getting Gavin Creel on Broadway in Mary Poppins. From what I've seen and heard from the London production, he's absolutely phenomenal.
To reiterate earlier posters:
John Tartaglia as Bart (Mary Poppins) and Patti as Mame. Both would be too perfect :)

Here are my suggestions
Sherie Rene Scott- Miss Adelaide (Guys and Dolls)
Stephanie J Block- Mamma Rose (Gypsy [20 years from now])
Christine Ebersole- Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd)
Cheyenne Jackson- Bobby (Company)
Cheyenne Jackson- The Emcee (Cabaret)
As someone who is TOTALLY EXCITED about the guy and dolls revival, i think that:
Kristin Chenoweth as Miss Adelaide. *if she can sing it*
Norbert Leo Butz as Nathan Detroit
Ashley Brown as Sarah Brown
I also like the idea of Adam Pascal as Judas.
And though they may be a bit old, i've always wanted to see Pascal as Fiyero and Anthony Rapp as Boq. Wishful thinking, I know. :)
I would love to see:
Idina Menzel as Evita
Sutton Foster as Cassie in A Chorus Line
Sherie Rene Scott as the Witch in ITW
Bernadette Peters as Grizabella
Terence Mann as Sweeney Todd
Norbert Leo Butz as Tevye in Fiddler (eventually)
Christine Ebersole as Mother in Ragtime
Jonathan Groff as Chris in Miss Saigon
Patti LuPone as Victor/Victoria
Laura Benanti as Eliza Doolittle in My fair Lady

Kristin Chenoweth can sing just about anything.
Meryl Streep, on the other hand, can't even sing ABBA.
