I KNOW!! How could Hocus Pocus STILL not be on Broadway, but Tarzan can??

Just imagine Christine singing "I Put a Spell on You"

I'm ALL FOR "Hocus Pocus" the musical! I wish Sara Jessica Parker and Bette Midler could be convinced to come to b'way in it - but it would never happen. There's already two musical numbers...

A musical version of HOCUS POCUS with Mary Testa as Winifred, Amy Spanger as Sarah, and Mary Stout as Mary would be dynamite.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Julia Murney as Cathy in The Last 5 Years. I think she would be amazing! I admit I also like the idea of Sean Palmer as Raoul, just as long as he can keep wearing those tight pants :)

EDIT: I also think Oliver Tompsett or Cheyenne Jackson would both be brilliant as Jamie in The Last 5 Years.

Anthony Crivello as Captain Hook in 'Peter Pan.' I don't know how or why the idea came to me, but I think he would be absolutely perfect!

Same goes for Hugh Laurie as Higgins in 'My Fair Lady.'

I'd love to see Victoria Clark as the Mother Abbess in 'The Sound of Music,' too.

re: [ACTOR] Should So Play [ROLE!]

Whoa. Now I suddenly want to see Tony Crivello as Captain Hook as well...

And yes! Someone else agrees with my Sean Palmer as Raoul scheme!

Megan Mullally as Bonnie in Anything Goes or Joanne in Company, only because she'd be able to play both parts as Karen from W&G lol

I'd love for there to be a Hocus Pocus musical...*sighs and imagines how amazing it would be)

dancingthrulife you beat me to it. I was just gonna talk about murney as cathy. I have the audio from that performance and while she is wonderful I find him to be the highlight. And I would kill to hear cheynne Jackson sing that score! And Hugh Laurie as Higgins is inspired Casting!

re: [ACTOR] Should So Play [ROLE!]

Some friends and I were watching the film DROP DEAD GORGEOUS tonight and came up with the idea of a musical version with:

-Faith Prince as Gladys Leeman
-Annaleigh Ashford as Amber Atkins
-Haven Burton as Becky Ann Leeman
-Leah Hocking as Annette Atkins
-Barbara Walsh as Loretta
-Susan Blackwell as Terry Macy/ Connie Rudrud/ Iona Hildebrandt
-Ann Harada as Colleen Douglas/Chloris Klinghagen/ Mrs. Howard
-Jay Reiss as John Dough
-Kevin Chamberline as Hank

And then, for the rest of the pageant girls, we thought of Kate Reinders as Leslie Miller, Leslie Kritzer as Michelle Johnson, Becky Gulsvig as Mary Johanson, Lindsay Nicole Chambers as Janelle Betz, and Natalie Joy Johnson as Tammy Curry/ Tess Weinhaus.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Alice Ripley should play Barbara in August: Osage County.
Christine Estabrook should play Mrs. Lovett. I think the twitches and quirks she uses in Spring Awakening would work very well for Lovett.

Very late in the game to make this comment, but I'll make it anyway. I would give ANYTHING to see Charles Busch do Auntie Mame (the play, not the musical). He's already done it in summer stock (or whatever the equivalent is these days) and he did a reading with Peggy Cass and Marion Seldes (which was WONDERFUL) some time back, but I'd still give my left n_t to see it. I saw Rosalind Russell do it on stage in 1957 and NO ONE has been comparable in that role since -- except Charles Busch.

Skylar Astin is my perfect Jaime for L5Y. He just needs to age a few more years.

And pretty much Heidi in anything.

Kelli O'Hara as Lucille Frank in Parade, preferably within the next few years. Something tells me she might finally snag her long-awaited Tony for this role.

James Barbour......Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice) and Edmond Dantes (The Count of Monte Cristo).

Kristin Chenoweth...Peter Pan re: [ACTOR] Should So Play [ROLE!]

I would love to see Christine Ebersole and Patti LuPone in Mame together.
Gavin Creel or Cheyenne Jackson as Billy Crocker in Anything Goes and Laura Benanti as Hope.

James Barbour as The Phantom

Dana Stackpole(His wife) as Christine

Aaron Lazar as Raoul

re: [ACTOR] Should So Play [ROLE!]

That would be REALLY cool. But... I know James Barbour can sing really high, but somehow, I have trouble imagining him singing the higher parts of the role, at least the way the Phantom normally would, full-voice.

I still maintain that I'd love to see him play Snape in a Harry Potter musical... I even read an interview where he said he really admired Alan Rickman. And he looks so much like Snape, especially in "A Tale of Two Cities."

I second that whole-heartedly. I think he would be perfect!

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.
