Despite the strange title, this is actually NOT a [Title of Show]-centric thread. Basically, the question is, what are some roles that you feel are perfectly suited for certain Broadway performers... that they have never played.
For me--
*Kristin Chenoweth as Lina Lamont from "Singin' In The Rain." When I watched that movie with my little sister, she pointed to Lina and said, "Is that Glinda?" If they ever remake that film, it'd be a crime if she wasn't cast.
*Norm Lewis as the Beast from "Beauty and the Beast." (Shut up you, I know it's closed, but I know he's said in interviews that he'd want to try to take on the role.) I was pretty upset when it closed, especially because I wanted to see Norm playing that role. But at least he got to be in the show that replaced BATB.
*Terrence Mann as the Judge from Sweeney Todd. Heck, throw in Philip Quast as Sweeney, and you'll have Javert vs. Javert. But seriously, I adore Terrence Mann's voice, and he's got the white hair and the persistant air of utter creepiness to pull off the role. I also think Terrence Mann would be an AMAZING Frollo in a stage version of Disney's "Hunchback of Notre Dame," similar to that Gloeckner von Notre Dame production Drew Sarich was in in Germany.
*Sean Palmer as Raoul in "Phantom of the Opera." When I saw him in Little Mermaid, I couldn't help but think "THAT IS RAOUL." (At least, when I wasn't thinking, "THOSE ARE TIGHT PANTS.")
If they ever remake SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, it will be a crime. Period.
I know. But I was saying IF they do. Seeing as they already did it to Annie and The Music Man and Kristin Chenoweth and Victor Garber were the biggest redeeming qualities, it's only a matter of time. And if Kristin took on "Singin' In The Rain," it would make it that much easier to stomach. I don't consider myself a big fan of hers, but she fits the role SO well.
I'd prefer she did it onstage to film, but I doubt she'd sign onto a part that small, unless they added new songs for Lina. And that would defeat the purpose of Lina's annoying voice.
Reba should play Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse.
George Hearn should play Frollo is Disneys Hunchback is ever on broadway
Catherine Zeta Jones should play Aurora/Spiderwoman in Kiss of the Spiderwoman
Hunter Bell should play Piragua Guy in In the Heights
(The last one was a joke for those who would actually take it seriously)
I want to see Sherie Rene Scott as The Witch in Into the Woods.

I'd killllll to see Mary McCormack as Queenie in LaChiusa's Wild Party.
^^^^^^I second Sherie Rene Scott as The Witch in Into the Woods
megan mullaly as roxie... it might be too late. but still
Hmmm... George Hearn as Frollo? Perfect voice for the role, but I'm not sure he has the look. Then again, I've always been so hung up on the idea of Terrence Mann in that role that I'm probably a little prejudiced.
Adam Pascal as Judas in "Jesus Christ Super Star"!
Also, if we are including impossible wishes, then I wanna see Carol Channing as Mrs. Tottendale in "The Drowsy Chaperone" :)
Definitely Donna Murphy as Rose in a few years.

Christopher J Hanke As Fieyro?
Meryl Streep as Mamma Rose?
Sherie Rene Scott as The Witch in Into the Woods?
What is the matter with you people?
Tyler Maynard as Pirelli in Sweeney Todd? MYESSSS? You know you want it.
I've always wanted to see Michael Ball as Sir Percy Blakeney in "The Scarlet Pimpernel." He doesn't look the part, but only he could possibly sound as resonant and hang onto those amazing notes as Douglas Sills does... and he has that wonderful ability to transition between being romantic and utterly goofy. And, um, Michael Ball's my favourite person in the world, and Sir Percy's my favourite fictional character...
If SirNotAppearing is on crack, I want some of whatever he had. Because I also love the idea of Neil Patrick Harris as Emmett in "Legally Blonde!" And Dr. Horrible on Broadway is a very intriguing concept... though I'm not sure I agree with all of your casting.
One show I've always wanted to see revived on Broadway is "Annie, Get Your Gun." I don't know who would be good for the leads, though.
