@Smooth, the others did a good job of explaining my obscure reference. 
Re the non-vaccine side of the street, my intuition is that most people will come around when it becomes impractical not to. As we progress and Florida (and its comrades in stupidity) starts losing (e.g.) conventions, tourism, businesses, etc. [not to mention more human life while the rest of the country moves on], this will largely evaporate. It's a lose lose proposition. And from the other perspective, when these people figure out they can't get on an airplane, I have a feeling they are going to see the light too.
