Has anyone seen this yet? Any thoughts?
I love Orville's BRONCO album and tickets seem reasonably-priced, so I'm tempted.
Looks like they release daily $28 rush tickets on their official ticketing site, as well.
(Although, I can't tell if those are for previews only...)

If I hadn't seen Illinoise -
I really enjoyed this. Great dancers working up a sweat telling the time-honored story of a young man coming out to his conservative family. Very loud Orville Peck songs play over speakers. I would recommend.
Coming months after Illinoise -
Sometimes it's all about timing! Ain't Done Bad isn't even close as a theatrical experience.
As a dance piece, I would definitely recommend. The dancers are doing great work.
I'm a huge Orville Peck fan and have been since his debut album- he puts on fantastic concerts, too- but I'm not sure his music to date seems super conducive to something like this. He's not so much a storyteller as he is great as mining and subverting Western symbols and imagery.

"The dancing is lovely, and the story is insubstantial, making this pleasantly light summer fare."
"From a dance perspective, it’s excellent. As a drama, it’s merely ok.
There is a dearth of conflict in Ain’t Done Bad. We see its happy ending coming from miles away. That feels somewhat false in a time when hostility toward LGBT people still exists — most vociferously in the parts of the country where country music is particularly enjoyed. Of course, Orville Peck’s entire career proves that there is an overlap constituency for both country music and gay sex. In that light, Ain’t Done Bad should be seen as a beautiful vision of what America could be — and is becoming."
Agree with the issues raised, Orville Peck appeals to a very small subset, and when compare to Illinoise, well I know who I’m choosing. Hate to admit it but the creative team just misread the room on this one.
For what it’s worth, Ain’t Done Bad was on its feet a whole year before Illinoise had its first production.
I also don’t think they’re in direct competition with each other, as one is on and the other is Off-Broadway. They’re both jukebox dance shows. That’s about as much as you can compare.

sad that Orville Peck's music has gone downhill after the debut.
