But Rita Moreno did do Sunset Boulevard, so you could kind of say that Chita did it
I didn't so much have a problem with the mashup montage as I did with the fact that they didn't present the awards at the point, rather than earlier and off-camera.

I agree with you. It seems the best way to avoid the outrage this presentation has caused. And yet, while I agree it is best to honor each lifetime achiever individually, I also believe there has been an overreaction to the decision to go this way. Maybe their decision had a good reason behind it. One theory: ALW was selected as the honoree when an insider on the board the dish that Chita may not make it until next year alive, hence the shared award. I know...just saying. I'd love to hear from the show presenters about why they chose to go this way.
Me Miranda, is Chita in declining health? She seemed as feisty as ever during her speech on Sunday.
I was in her presence within the past year and she has more energy than I do!
I enjoyed the mash-up. I enjoyed seeing the real thing as opposed to people recreating their performances. I thought the editing was pretty cool.
After the show, I fantasized about hearing Chita sing “Omar Sharif” and Katrina Lenk sing “Kiss Of the Spider Woman.”
