"Until that point, he’s basically a very bland character, but that’s more of the fault of the writing"
I don't think that's true at all. Tom Sturridge in London and Patrick Andrews at Steppenwolf both gave incredibly intense, tightly wound, brilliant and sustained performances. If Darren Criss isn't doing much, I assure you it's not the writing.

I saw the show today from the recommended 400 even seats and completely cosign the view from there! The only downside is you get a decent amount of actors' backs, but for every back you see you have an actors' face playing directly to you. For the low price it was really fantastic seats, and with the discount especially so! Highly recommend.
As for the show itself it was really solid! It didn't blow me away as a play or anything, but it was a showcase for a masterclass performance from Sam Rockwell, and a really really great one from Laurence Fishburne. Those 2 performances were worth the price of admission alone, and even if the play didn't leave much of an impact on me those 2 actors definitely did. Darren Criss on the other hand was.... fine? I would tend to agree with the poster that writing doesn't do the characters any favors at all, but I don't know the play well enough to say that with any authority. I would definitely be curious to see the same script with an entire different cast, and compare the pace/characterization. Overall a great show, and for the dirt cheap prices with surprisingly great seats, I'd recommend to anyone!

The Broadway revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo, starring Tony winner Laurence Fishburne, and Golden Globe winners Sam Rockwell and Darren Criss begins previews at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre March 22. Directed by Neil Pepe (A Life in the Theatre), the limited 16-week engagement will open April 14 and run through July 10. The production was in rehearsals during the COVID-19 Broadway shutdown and found its premiere delayed. It was originally slated to begin previews March 2022. American Buffalo follows three small-time hustlers in search of the American Dream. The production premiered on Broadway in 1977, receiving two Tony Award nominations and a Drama Desk award for Outstanding Set Design. It has gone on to be revived Off-Broadway in 1981 and 2000, and on Broadway in 1983.

I am currently in A 226. Is that TOO LOW? I can change it to D 228 and save $20. What do you think?

From the NY Times:
"As Mamet Returns to Broadway, His Claims on Pedophilia Get Spotlight"
"The playwright fueled outrage with his claim on Fox News that teachers were “inclined” to pedophilia as he promoted a new book that decries “the Left’s anti-Trump psychosis.”

I’ve got AA 223-225, and was going to exchange it for something higher up, but based on this, it sounds ok /not obstructed?
