re: ANNIE comes back to Broadway. 2009!

I highly doubt this is true, but if it is, wouldn't Jessica Lee Goldyn be a great Lily St. Regis and Carolee Carmello be a brilliant Hannigan?
[title of show] on Broadway. it's time. believe.

mtv could do a pimped out show with 6 year old pageant queens auditioning for the role ... illegally red search for the next Annie Warbucks. Each week Bernie Telsey could have them ride tricycles while singing Hard Knock Life and then they could wear character tap shoes while walking on pavement singing lets go to the movies. And then the winner of each challenge could meet with one fired castmember of any annie company and get advice how not to be fired when sick. Joanna Pacitti could be the judge that yells "YOURE FIERY!!!"

Carmello would be a killer Hannigan. Unfortunately her lack of "1 Degree of Charnin" makes her ineligible for any major revival.

Carolee Carmello is going to be in The First Wives Club musical, so unfortunately that won't happen.

I think they should do gender-blind casting and cast James Barbour as Miss Hannigan!!! I'd go see it for sure!!! "Little Girls" would have a whole new meaning. re: ANNIE comes back to Broadway. 2009!

Annie's my least favorite musical of all time. That moves it to the top of the list of things that will end up back on Broadway.

The original poster mentioned a London revival, a london revival that has not been happening for some time now

How about Patti Lupone as a grown up Annie singing "It's A Hard Knock Life"?

What is with all the Annie bashing? Annie is far superior to a lot of shows currently on Broadway. I say welcome home Annie.

Annie auditions would not be done without a lot of fanfare. Auditions for the Annie TOUR were in mid-September. Most likely, the original poster has the wrong info.

are you sure? with the national tour just ending and the nonequ why would they decide to bring it back I would think thats what they would of done with the 30th annivarsry.
and the closest it got to broadway was MSG.

You'd be surprised how many people bandy about the term "Broadway," even as a well-intentioned mistake. When a local theatre did Miss Saigon, one of the leads had been on the non-Equity tour. I talked to a guy who played one of the Vietnamese soldiers and he was so excited to work with "someone who had been in the show on Broadway" that I didn't have the heart to break it to him...

Methinks that the show is opening to help grow global warming.

There is no reason to bring back Annie. It's a second rate show.

The original production of Annie was anything but second rate. Though it may be produced by every community theatre in America, the original production was incredible. Annie is always critized because it is constantly being produced and is just about "some little girl who gets rich." But the original production showed how heartwarming it was.

Productions today may be second rate, but this show is far from it.

that's probably right ... how low do the ratings actually go?

I guess we need to add Annie to that "enough" list. The one that includes Gypsy and Guys and Dolls ... of musicals that are revived on Broadway way too much.

Emily Skinner, Mary Testa, and Haydn Gwynne are all actresses I'd love to see tackle Miss Hannigan.

Word on the street has it that all the actors will play instruments. They are currently looking for a dog that can wear a bell on it's tail and wag it to the rhythm of Dumb Dog.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I'm so glad they're putting "Dumb Dog" in for Broadway! It's a gem of a number.
