Check out this new addition to McCall's fall costume selection:
It's good to see me, isn't it?
That looks nothing like Glinda's gown...
I don't think it is supposed to look like the shows version.
Generally, when pattern companies replicate a particular costume, they make it slightly off the mark from the original. I think it's so they can avoid paying the actual designer or company for using their copyrighted design. If you want proof, just look at the myraid patterns for "Lord of the Rings" costumes. Not one of the major companies has got one right yet...
OHhhhh god can you imagine all the Wicked fanatics lining up to buy their sewing kits now!!
...for the housewife with WAY too much time on her hands.
It was probably the same drunk, pill popping women who sew them that designed 'em.

It might look better with the right material. But, then, maybe I'm being optimistic. Updated On: 7/12/04 at 09:10 PM
Everything looks better when you use the right material

LOL. I doubt much Wicked fans sew...
Wouldn't WICKED fan be dressing up as Elphaba, anyway? She is the more pop-U-ler of the two...

And the costume's so much simpler.

I just grew out of Halloween way too early. I think that having two costumed holidays a year helped with that.
Matt_G, I resent those comments. My mother sews, and she does not have too much time on her hands nor is she a pill-popping woman. She is actually a very strong woman, and when she and my father had just gotten married and starting having children, they had very little money, so she made clothes out of necessity.

I doubt Matt_G meant to insult all women who sew. My mom sews, too. And quilts. She also holds two graduate degrees and a full-time job.
I'm with brdwaybaby17. Sewing happens to be a hobby of mine. I enjoy making costumes for myself and friends. Not everyone who sews is a cabin-fevered housewife with a drinking problem, you know.
And for the record, I think the pattern is pretty accurate. Just ignore view A and the hellatious fabric in the picture.
