Corine, if you've seen one production of a show six times in five and a half years, that strikes me as a wee bit obsessive.
Do you read this board at all?
6 times in 5 1/2 years is nothing around here.

In "For Now," maybe they should replace "George Bush" with "this show".
If you heard my Forbidden Broadway number your toes would curl.

LOL, D2 -- I was gonna say. Six times in five and a half WEEKS is slacking for some around here.
Corine2 I love Avenue Q also but just because you love it so doesn't mean it won't close. I don't see why it would, as far as I know it's selling quite well on Broadway, and the production is very low cost, but I loved Drowsy, that closed, in London and New York. Saying you love it won't keep it open, if it's made plans to close it will close. If not, it will not.
Has anyone noticed how the show is only listed in the NY Times on Sundays?
Rent was like that too.
I spoke to one of the writers and he said it wont close but go and buy tickets and keep it alive. If I had more money I would have seen Q every month or so.
When I see the show it makes me happy. It is a very special show to me. I hope to see it when Carey Anderson returns. I have never seen her in the show and when I saw her in Bryant Park this Summer I was touched by her performance.
As we know: Everything is only for now but I hope that Q lives on for many more years. It is brilliant, touching and my favorite Broadway show in many years.
PS I do relate to Kate Monster!

Corine, I love Q as much as you do (possibly more!) but even I know that there is no way it will last for many more years.
In all honesty, looking at the numbers, do you believe that could happen?

I think if Q closes Corine's taking the boards down with her.
"Saying you love it won't keep it open, if it's made plans to close it will close."
I think she realizes that.
I saw the FINAL SHOW tonight.
It was way cool! I got all the puppets autographs!
SO LONG TO AVENUE Q!!!

AVENUE Q is definitely closing. Coolkid1776 has tickets for the last performance.
Some perspective:
Comparing Spring Awakening (already set to close) to AQ:
For the calendar year 2008 BOTH shows have AVERAGED 75% capacity.
SA GROSSED more than 19 Million; while AQ's figures only 13plus million. SA is also cheap to run....but they are abandoning the ship; unless there is a rush on tix....it's only a matter of time.
There are no performances on Wed.
I hope it will last for at least one more year.
Go and see it. Keep it alive.
