At "Ain't Too Proud" on Saturday matinee, Nik Walker had to pause to regain his composure after getting very emotional late in the show.  Obviously it was closing weekend and it is an emotional show.  I couldn't recall another time when an actor had to turn away and pause due to emotions like that but I am sure that wasn't unique.

Any other examples folks want to share?

This is standard stuff during closing performances. Streisand has said that it wasn’t until her closing performance in FUNNY GIRL did the lyrics to “People” make sense to her.  It always happens during “For Good” whenever an actress is playing her final performance in WICKED.

Stay, I Pray You at the closing performance of Anastasia. Pretty much everyone on stage was a blubbering mess. Also Journey to the Past at this performance

Blubbery messes and tears are not uncommon.  Hamilton had tears regularly with the original cast, at least.  Kara Young (Letitia) in Clyde's had a soaking wet face at the end on Saturday night, but didn't have to pause and turn around and regain composure to finish up

Cynthia Erivo completely broke and started sobbing during the middle of "I'm Here" at the closing performance of The Color Purple revival. The second she stopped singing, the audience lept to its feet and rallied her through to the very last note. It was one of the most symbiotic experiences I've ever felt between actor and audience.

The first Side Show, closing night, was one for hardcore fans. The two stars shed tears but it was Norm Lewis who let our a burst of raw feeling in “You Should Be Loved.”

During the final performance by the original London cast of Love Never Dies, Sierra Boggess clutched her hands over her chest and sank down to the stage floor and wept at the end of the title aria. The entire house leapt to its feet for a lengthy, impassioned ovation. The conductor had to begin the next track to get everyone back in their seats.
