Posted: 11/13/04 at 10:30pmI just got back from Adam's Civilian release concert. Oh my, he is a god. He sounded excellent. I had such a good time. He came out and took pics with us and signed autographs. I asked him if he was going to be doing Rent the movie and he said yes. It is official, from the mouth of Adam to my ears, he will be Roger. Oh I can't wait!!!!!! I love that guy!!!

Posted: 11/13/04 at 10:41pmI went...it was a very good concert. Adam was in very good voice, the songs played great live, and the crowd was much less "screamy teeny-bopperish" than I'd expected! I was rather shocked that there wasn't a barrage of uncontrollable squealing when he sang Glory (a lovely version, accompanied only by Jim Abbott playing piano). I actually heard someone go "shh" just as he started. It was very nice though! I think he did most (if not all) of the songs on Civilian. Twas a very enjoyable evening at Joe's Pub!

He sang Glory? *grins happily*
I am so, so glad that the screamy thirteen year olds chilled out a little. He's pretty and all, but really, show some taste. People go to hear him, not your teenage hormones.

copy/paste from the Adam Pascal thread OT:
Oh.
My.
God.
I know I start like half of my posts like this, but I really don't even know where to begin. I guess, okay - clothes.... the red shoes, again, black pinstipe-y pants, white button down top with a collar, partially open (yay) - white's not his best color, but he still looks incredible. Hair was kinda flat again, but I think that's just because it's cold. I flat-iron my hair... I sympathize. Every time he ran his hands though his hair, my fangirly heart skipped a little beat. It was lovely. While was tuning he'd chit-chat a little bit. Someone was like "Adam, you're losing too much weight." Made me laugh... he was like "Huh? Oh, I'm loosing too much weight? Oh, well that's... an interesting comment..." Silly Adam. More on his silly comments later.
He came on stage and was like "this is my record. I hope you like it!" Someone asked him to say more, and he was like "that's all I'm sayin' baby!" So he sang all of Civilian, but not in order, ending with I'm With You, but he left out Book of Endings. This was the first time he did the new music with a full band (though he did do a few songs on acoustic guitar, he played electric most of the time) and you can see that there really still is a lot of rock star in him. You can see that as wonderful as he is in musical theatre, this is what he was meant to do. I couldn't stop smiling because he is simply a joy to watch up there, rockin' out, having a great time. I love seeing him perform because he's talented and sexy, but also because I love to see how happy it makes him. I really do, and I mean that. He's very, very musical - everything about him has a lot of rhythm, even though he doesn't really show it all the time. I'd just watch his hands while he played the guitar in complete rapture. He's so talented. He did Tomorrow and the Sun first, and played tambourine while he sang.... definite hip-shaking during that number, too. I was definitely drooling. He has this adorable rocker-leg thing that he does, too. Most musicans tap a foot to keep time, which he does, but every once in a while it'll just start shaking up and down, or he'll kick it around a little. It's cute. Definite bouncing, and some semi-dancing, and just a lot of movement with and of the music. I'm a sucker for musical guys, so I was in heaven. So yeah, he did all of the songs basically as they appear on the CD... full band arrangements and such. Then he went "okay, last song!" and everyone made one big, simultaneous "awwwww" so Adam grabs the mic, rolls his eyes and re-creates a very exaggerated "awwwww." Got him some good laughs. So they all left, but everyone knew we were getting an encore. Adam and his pianist Jim came back out and Adam said he might need help with the next one. We all knew. He. Sang. Glory. I mean, granted, I'd seen him do it before, so this wasn't as special as the first time - that made me *cry*. This didn't do that, but it was still a really beautiful experience. He remembered all of the words this time, too. amd then finished with Book of Endings. Anyway, he sounded gorgeous, as always... he's so incredible.
Okay, so random funny stuff that I need to include now.
Outside there were Broadway.com video camera people who wanted to interview fans. I almost did it, but I clammed up - I so should've, though. The girl they talked to told the camera that she and her friends "wanted to have sex with his voice," and I caught something about them not seeing him in Cabaret or something. I wanted to take the microphone and say something constructive, but I didn't.
He was really candid tonight - lots of fun. He was like "how's the food?!" and said he'd never done a show where people were eating before. He said it was weird, and he didn't like it (kidding of course...). Midway through the show he was like "hey, whatcha got to drink?!?!" Cute. He was introducing one song, and then realized he was introducing the wrong one... lots of laughs, there, too. He was saying it was a song about people who are lonely and do all sorts of crazy things for love (Something of Ours) and when he switched over he was like "okay, no. This is a song about cool people!" He sang Ordinary Men Abound, and then before going into Something of Ours he was like "remember all the sh*t I said before?! That goes now." He has a really fun sense of humor, so yay for that.
Oh... Cybele was there. She's actually really pretty in person - pictures don't do her justice. And we didn't stage door. I felt weird, since I had just met him a few days ago, plus it was cold, and we weren't really sure if he was going to be doing the whole autograph thing tonight. Next time.
Okay, end long post. Took lots of pictures, but I took them with Undiscovered's camera, so I don't have any yet.
Edited to add: Adamized and y'all who met him, where did you wait afterwards? The lobby in the main entrance to the public? And this kiss? Does he recognize you or something? Either that or you must've said something very sweet to him!

Posted: 11/13/04 at 11:02pmEmcee, you are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went through the kitchen area to meet him over by the bathrooms, he came out and was like "everyone want pictures" I was the first to get my picture and autograph, I had him sign my Rent cd because I already have both of his other cds autographed and I forgot to bring my picture of him and I. I didn't see his wife, wasn't really looking though.. only cared about him and his handsome self....

lol - I commit absolutely everything to memory. That way, I'm not sad when things are over. That's why I love having lots of pictures, too.
insomniak - read my post again. I posted that he did Glory with just a piano and that the songs were exactly as they appear on the CD.

I wanted to see if I could squeeze any more details out of you, that's all.
So did people go all screamy and stupid during Glory like they did at Kean?
