aw, that makes me sad. I'm so sappy...
... I've rarely seen him as one to show much emotion anymore. Hm.

Posted: 11/14/04 at 4:57pmIt's a hard night to end a show Emcee he was crying through alot of the performance as Roger in his last show, more emotional than angry, I was lucky i was in the lottery for his last show eventhough i had tickets in the orch which we gave to a father and daughter who flew up from Florida in hopes of getting scalped tickets. While waiting on line to buy the lottery tickets I had fans offer me $500 a seat for my tickets but i said "no way!"

What did he sound like? I hear that he'd basically killed his voice by the end of his run.
Emcee, can you tell me about the Diva thing with TGIF or is it just not something you'll share?

Gr. I hate that I was too young for all of this.
Of course it's hard - I wasn't knocking that. I mean, at Aida's last, and the day Cabaret closed, he (aside from the camera issue) showed very little emotion. I guess that's how some people deal with stuff.

I'm always afraid to stage door. I get so nervous. I've never met Adam and a part of me doesn't want to. I'm afraid that I'll freak out and do something stupid. I'll end up being like one of those fans in Book of Endings. Which is something I do not want to be.
I remember when I met Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs after Wicked, I was so scared. The excitement didn't come until after I got their autographs and was walking towards Port Authority to go home.

<-- does lots of stupid things.
Honestly, if you're nice to him, he'll do just about anything. I'm really shy, so a lot of times my stupidity is just in silence. I used to have to have people speak on my behalf.

I actually thought that toward the end of his run he did sound tired, compared to '96. His voice was still powerful, but he would crack a lot more and you could just hear how exhausted he was. It could have been just the nights that I was there... But that was definitely the impression I had, and what I heard from other people who saw him in '97. It doesn't matter now, though. People who saw him in London afterward said that his voice, if in fact it had been fried toward the end of the Broadway run, recovered really well. And I think we can all agree that he sounds incredible now.

Thanks, amasis. That's what I've heard elsewhere, too. I'm not sure if he strained his voice too much or if there were other circumstances, but we know he sounds good now.

I went to see Adam last night, and I agree with everyone. He was amazing. The show was great, and the atmosphere was great, everyone was very mature, it was fun.
After the show, my boyfriend and I hung out at the bar and had a couple of drinks, and luckily enough, we got to meet a lot of people; Kurt Deusch, Adam's wife Cybele, and Adam. I met one of Adam's friends too, but unfortunately I didn't get his name. I also got to meet he band members and congratulate them on the show.
I had great talks with Cybele and Kurt. Apparently Sherie was home with their baby because, as Kurt said, "We couldn't find child care for the night, but she will be here on the 27th." I talked to Cybele for a very long time, talking about Adam's show (it being the first time she has heard him sing these songs live), the other times I have met adam and have seen him live, and we even talked about (gasp) WICKED lol... Cybele said she hates to admit it but she has yet to see Wicked yet.
We met Adam also and this is the first time he has remembered me. He came out while I was talking to his wife actually.. and we said hi and he looked at me strangely and I was like "I met you in August" and he was like "YES! I was gonna say you look familiar!" Well we took pics (Yes i even got a picture with Cybele), and he signed my Civilian cd... can I just say Adam is THE friendliest guy ever?? He even won over my boyfriend. My boyfriend, needless to say, wasn't crazy about adam for obvious boyfriend jealousy reasons.. After Adam started singing my boyfriend was clapping for him, cheering, etc.. he even shook adams hand at the end of the night and told him it was a great show. Definitely made me happy, and also the fact that my boyfriend had favorite songs of the night and made me put them on once we were in the car.
All in all it was a WONDERFUL night and I WISH i could go on the 27th but unfortunately I can't
I took 3 camera rolls of pictures but I haven't developed them yet. If anyone wants to see them, email me or something.

AHHH! Great story!
I can't wait for the 27th... all of these stories are making me wish I'd stuck around to see him afterwards. Oh well, next time - to say goodbye and wish him luck in SF.
