I was just looking through different things on YouTube and I came across some audios of Adam Kantor on as Henry in Next to Normal. When (and why) did this happen? I'm surprised I never heard about it.

He went on once, on October 16, 2010. He was the Henry cover for a while, but Adam Chanler-Berat stayed with the show for its entire run and only called out like 5 times during that span of time.
Actually, he went on twice on October 16th and once on October 17th.
Kantor covered for Brian Crum (the Henry/Gabe u/s) when he was on vacation. I don't believe he ever went on as Gabe, though.

Adam actually only ever covered Henry. Curt Hansen was covering Gabe for part of the time that Adam Kantor covered Henry, so there was coverage for both Massey and Chanler-Berat.

Adam missed more than 5 performances, but Kantor, as has been said, was only a vacation swing when Brian Crum or Adam went on vacation. So he was only on hand for about two weeks.
I remember being very surprised when he was announced as a vacation cover, as he seemed a little long in the tooth for the role of a teenage pot smoker.
I was just going to say. I guess he's a "seasoned pro," but... he's always looked older to me. I know he's super short. But still.
He's actually the same age as Adam Chanler-Berat. They're both 27. Both of them have always looked older then that to me...not necessarily in a bad way, though.
