Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I don't know whether this has been mentioned before. But it's just a thought. I even think it's great to bring Adam as Fiyero in the film - he has a little bit of fame, looks, voice. I think the 2nd ideal choice for Fiyero in the movie would probably be Taye Diggs.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

The idea of Adam playing Fiyero (on Broadway though, not necessarily in the movie) has definitely been discussed here before. Personally, I think it's a good role for him (especially for his voice) but it's kind of a small role. I think I'd rather see him challenge himself with more demanding roles.

He sounds a lot like Norbert. I think he'd be great in it.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I agree that its a good part for him, but definately a step down from what he normally is. Adam is a good actor to star in a show, not be a supporting actor. As much as I'd like to see him as Fiyero, it won't happen.

If the musical had been more true to the book, Fiyero would be perfect (vocally and size) for Adam.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I guess this sort of brings back the question of what other Broadway roles would be good for him. We were discussing this a while ago, but because of the nature of his voice only certain types of roles will work for him. Oh well - I can't wait to see what he surprises us with next!

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I find it offense that some people here think playing a supporting character is a step down after playing a lead. No it isn't.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

What film are you talking about?

Based on voice, Adam would be perfect for the part.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

Sorry bg2! I didn't mean that it was a "step down." I meant that I think Adam would do well with it, but I also think that it's "too small" for him. It seems like since he got very lucky and started off with starring role having no experience at all and continues to get them, he wouldn't go for something smaller. No offense intended!

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

The part is a little underdeveloped but Adam would def. be able to pull it off. He looks like the part too. I have a feeling (since I think Wicked and Avenue Q will end up being the long runners of the season) that it will be done and he will end up playing the part at one time. I also think Eden, Stephanie and Shoshana will all probably end up playing Elphaba again

Millie, I think they meant the Wicked movie, if it in fact happens.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I knew she was probably referring to a Wicked movie, but ruthiefan_felix kind of sounded like there definitely was going to be a film.

And Taye Diggs did play Fiyero while Norbert Leo Butz was on a medical leave.

I think he's definitely "over-qualified" for the role, but then so was Butz.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

Vocally I think he can handle it. I would like to see Taye Diggs back in the part (Which, of course, won't happen). It would be cool to see an African American actor do the part since the book's description of Fiyero led you to believe he is "A person of color" (I was going to say African American.....but it's Oz!!!) Any thoughts?

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I agree - casting Taye made the part a bit more true to the novel, even though the part itself strays VERY far from Maguire's original character.

I think the part is too small.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

Too bad Fiyero didn't have blue jewels all over him in the play...
What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

I know!! It was the 1st thing I looked for when Fiyero made his entrance and I was a bit disappointed that they didn't even do that!

My friend saw the show when Taye was in it and she said "As Long As You're Mine" was amazing. The two of them are really in love so it's so believable.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I heard that also. I think Adam Pascal would sound great doing that song.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

Taye was definitely a sexier Fiyero than Norbert though I LOVE Norbert.

I miss Norbert, especially his talking voice....drooool

He reminds me of Heath Ledger, they should have Heath Ledger be Fieyro

Well that makes me even more sad that Norbert was out!

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I think Adam could do the part easily, and that's why I hope he doesn't. I would like to see him take harder roles like The Emcee. Fiyero in the show is not at all well-written, and his music (what little he has) isn't great either. I'd rather see him in a more difficult role with more and better music.

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

Are they thinking about doing a Wicked movie? Or is it just a rumor?

re: Adam Pascal as Fiyero

I would pay a hundered bucks to hear Adam say 'swankified', though...

Movie? I think the rights are available but no one has picked them up yet.
