I have tickets to an upcoming matinee of the Addams Family and I was wondering what the stage door expectations should be - do Bebe and Nathan usually come out after a matinee? Also, interested in seeing Krysta Rodriguez and Wesley Taylor. I'm sitting in the mezznine, so hopefully I can get outside to get a good spot. If anyone can offer me any advice/stories on what to expect, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

Oh, Mr. Roxy.
Bes-- there is nearly always a 2nd way out of the theater so the actors don't HAVE to deal with the stage door if they choose not to.

Posted: 12/8/10 at 11:23pmOk, so I go this Saturday (really looking forward to it!) - I'm really hoping to get Bebe's autograph. Has anyone ever gotten her autograph on the way in? I haven't read anything about seeing her after the matinee. I was also wondering if I could mail the playbill to the theater with a SASE for a possible return? I would just risk not getting my other signatures back if it was never returned though.

@LinkLarkin24
Although I have not been to the Addams stage door, I have sent a Playbill in. Although it will take 1-3 months to get back, you will get it back. However, as an insurance policy, I always take a Playbill or two extra just for this purpose. Then if it comes back, I'm fortunate enough to have two signed ones (in person, and by mail).

Hence the phrase "for this purpose"...I take 5 or 10 for my collection or trading.

Posted: 12/9/10 at 7:51pmI usually...shamelessly...grab whatever's left in the stack at intermission and hoard them in my drawers.

I'm going to consider grabbing an extra one to mail to the theater as I really don't think i'll have time to catch the actors on their way in.
I'll write back and let you guys know how I make out - Thanks for the suggestions/answers.

Nathan may not want to stage door as often as he used to (mainly because he wants to avoid people like some of you who constantly bad-mouth him because he didn't come out the night you were there and sign your Playbill and talk to you for hours like you were now best friends), but I doubt he'd just come out and waltz to his car without signing.
That's why he goes out the other door most of the time, to avoid signing if he wasn't in the mood.
If he came out of the stage door, he would sign... at least a few.
He knows who put him where he is: we the fans.
That being said, I have met him many times and he was always fun and engaged and he is QUITE intellegent and informative at the Q & As after the show when he is on schedule to do them. One of the times I met him was after a matinee during the hayday of THE PRODUCERES. He was tired and didn't say a word, but he smiled at me and winked when I thanked him for being who he was and for making us all laugh. I will never forget that.

Ok, so here's what happend.
Didn't have time to try and get any autographs on the way in - really didn't have that much time.
Saw the show and for the first time we had mezzanine seating - first and last! I didn't care for being up there at all and didn't like looking down the whole time. Just my personal preference.
I enjoyed the show, and since I had been listening to the cast recording for a month now, I new what to expect. Bebe and Nathan were perfect as was the rest of the cast. Jackie Hoffman was hilarious as expected, and Zachary James was a great Lurch.
After the show, I was able to get autographs from Wesley Taylor, Zachary James, Kevin Chamberlin, Jackie Hoffman and Adam Riegler - all very nice. I may mail a playbill for Bebe to sign within the next couple of days.
What I did not enjoy was the ridiculous actions of the people around us. As you all know, the seating in the mezzanine is small and there isn't a lot of space for your legs - therefore, if someone needs to get by, you MUST stand up. Not a problem. The lights go out, the overture begins - the rest of our row decides it's time to find their seats. It was only the three of us in the row at showtime (show didn't start until 2:05). Standing up, we allowed the large group to take their seats causing us and everyone behind us to basically miss the opening of the curtain, special effects ect. One woman had decided to interupt me by asking me questions about the seating. Finally, the third song, they had settled - along with their coats/bags/phones/drinks - the works. Already disappointed, I tried to get back into the show. Well into the first act, what do you know - more people in our row arrive, only to find out that the original group were in their seats! Again, we all get up, allow the groups to make the switch, watch them get settled, and hear complaints about the ushers not knowing how to do their job. By this point, we weren't far from intermission. Having paid full price for the tickets, I was mad and upset as the lateness and carelessness of the other people in the row. Of course, the cell phones and conversations from the new group were also non-stop throughout the rest of the performance. That topped it all off. I plan on writing a letter to the house manager - I know it probably won't do any good, and I don't even want anything except for this situation to be known. I know a perfect show can't be guaranteed but what happened was over the top and by far the worst theater moment i've had since I've been going. As I stated, I'm more than happy to get up and allow someone to get out of the row for the restroom/emergency of some sort, but to disrupt the section for the entire first act - not acceptable.
I don't know if I'll get the chance to see the show again with the original cast, but it would be nice if I could get - I don't think i'd want to pay full price only to have another incident like the one I described.
