I mailed my Playbill from SOUTH PACIFIC and I found online that the theatre's address was listed as 50 LINCOLN CENTER PLAZA...I rechecked it again and then it said 150 W. 65TH ST...but the mail had been picked up already...
Are both addresses right or am I totally screwed?

Posted: 8/2/10 at 3:12pmI sent a letter to the stage managers there back in February to the address on 65th street that you listed and it got to them. I'm sure both would work, but try the 65th street one if your playbill doesn't come back.

Posted: 8/2/10 at 4:05pmProvided you put "South Pacific" and "Vivian Beaumont Theatre" on the mailing label it should find its way there through either address. The theatre is big enough that as long as your mail makes it to the correct post office (i.e. as long as the zip code is correct) they will most likely deliver it even if the street address is slightly wrong.

I don't know about that... I once put the wrong building number on an opening night gift to a friend and it got sent back to me.
I've learnt to use couriers.

Get a grip, Brody. It's twenty blocks uptown, less than a mile away.
I don't know why BrodyFosse has his knickers in a twist. Yes, tking, you were off by a few digits. It isn't as though you used a zip code for Wisconsin. It's the US postal system, so who knows? Still, Lincoln Center is Lincoln Center, and the Beaumont is well-known, so if a human sees your envelope, it'll get where it's going. Let us know how it works out.

Hopefully someone at the post office catches the error and manually fixes it (sometimes they do). If not, as long as you included a return address, it'll be returned to you.
Many people have NO idea that the zip code sometimes is more important than the actual address. You could have just addressed it to Vivian Beaumont Theatre or Lincoln Center and no numerical address and then just included the zip code... and your letter would have been delivered. Seriously.

Sure, all that's true, but seriously? Where does the "Where on EARTH did you get that zip code? Lincoln Center is no where near that zip code." tone come from? I can walk from 10036 to 10023 in five minutes or less. You responded as if it were unthinkable - on Mars, perhaps.
A human sees it, tking will be fine, but yes, worst case scenario, it'll come back. I doubt that will happen.

I'm used to mailing playbills to theatres that are in the Theatre District and therefor are in the 10036 Zip Code...I was not aware that the zip code changed.
hopwefully, the error is corrected and it makes it way to where it needs to be.
