I'm sure he comes lots of places! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Phantom2 that made my night.
Glad I could be of service? Service??!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I love that this thread exists. Just when we thought casting Ashley Simpson was a low point. I am baffled this show is still open... I would be much more inclined to see it they go the way of stunt casting. MMMMM... let's hope they get Lindo next!

Anyone else aside from me remember the old Jewel Box theatre on 42nd Street?
Could be a good indicator why.

Where exactly was the Jewel Box? Doesn't Paul refer to that in A Chorus Line?
He not only has a Master's (ahem...) Degree and been a high school teacher, he also "athletic director, a fitness instructor, a jazz vocalist, a painter and watercolorist, a federal grant coordinator, and an independent education consultant"--whatever THAT is.
A man of MANY talents...
And, I've said this on other threads about NBS, but many present and former members of the casr are very talented actors, singers and dancers, and some of them are BWW posters.
Foster,
When are we going??
He is clearly a man of many talents/disciplines, but as in all "celebrity" casting, the question is: can he sing and dance? Which iguess is why people would attend.
Also, I would love to pick the Spencer's brain as to why, if he has all those credentials why has he chosen to be best known for "accomodating" 3 men at once on film ( I am trying to be tactful and not get deleted). Human beings are so fascinating. I like to know how they think and come to do what they do. I like to know people's stories and histories.
I wish he would have done Tarzan instead.
He certainly would be the "manly" Tarzan that many BWW posters have been begging for. I still prefer my wonderful Josh.
Crikey, can you imagine the Disney "machine" promoting Tarzan with a gay porn star in the lead. That would be so hot.

Very smart move by the producers! They know what their audience wants.
Hell, I'd put on WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF with the cast of DEEP THROAT if it would make a buck!!
I'd like to seem him do Tarzan, too, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.
He's actually a really nice guy, I met him a while back...I would actually go out and see the show (as much as I am over it). It doesn't hurt that he's hot!

Oh, my. Give me a moment with that one...

"Can he sing and dance"? Well you certainly haven't seen Cirque Noir where he "danced" on two guys simultaneously and "sung" some really high notes....

The next stunt casting should be Josh Hartnett in Naked Boys Sining.
I mean, the only reason he is hired is because he is cute. He can't act. So this would give him a role he would be good in and he could stop ruining potentially good films with his wooden performances.

I have to say that those pics of Spencer get MY butter churning. And I've never seen that show--which I hear is actually fairly clever. Hmmmm. Group outing??
Then again, I need to save my wallet for all the ART about to hit Bway!

It was on 42nd, immediately west of Broadway in a three story building torn down in the mid 80s, I think. It was up a flight of stairs, and it was the dingiest, most pathetic stage in all of New York -- which, at that time, was pretty sad. In essence, it was a stripper revue, with the occasional drag queen (I guess to give it some class), and the... uhm... "performers" would wander out into the audience for anyone who wanted a... er... closer look, as it were. Rumour has it that the place has been around since the 40s, which would technically make it the longest running show in Broadway history.
Friends took me there for my 21st birthday. I never, ever forgave them.
Spence is a sweet and wonderful guy.
Mind you, I don't know if he can sing or dance, but he is a gem; I wish him the best of luck in this.
Under the Pink Carpet's broadcast here in Denver just did a feature on the show about 15 minutes ago. I think it was old though. The show has played here in Denver and I didn't see it. I heard it was just OK. But aftr seeing the feature on Pink Carpet, I may just have to see it just for the heck of it.

From the Perverse Idea File:
COMING SOON! CHATTERBOX: THE MUSICAL!
It's not as if he's being cast in "Light In The Piazza" on the strength of his name. This is "Naked Boys Singing" we're talking about here, people.
On the other hand, isn't wrong to be prejudiced agaist a person just because he is a gorgeous porn star?
Some of my best friends are porn stars. (I wish.)
