Via the magic of google, I came come up with the cached version of the (deleted for whatever reason) thread annoucing her death. Here's what it said.
"My dear friend Emma Thicke (aka BigFatBlonde) lost her battle with cancer last month. She is survived by her partner Alice.
While clearing out her Broadwayworld account I discovered a lot emails from members of this board. She clearly had made many friends here. I'm not at all surprised by that,Emma was a lovely warm hearted woman. At her memorial service strangers from all walks of life spoke of her generosity of heart and how she had touched and in some cases saved their lives.
I know this message board was a great comfort during the harsher days of her treatment.
I miss her terribly.
Alex"
I'm not sure why it would have been deleted, but at any rate, that's what it says.
Rest in Peace, Emma.

Norm Lewis would sing the Phantom beautifully.
I wonder if there's any thought on the producers' part that casting an African-American in the role would seem to be EQUATING being African-American to being hideously ugly? It obviously didn't keep them from it with Guillaume, but it's ironic and odd that there's apparently a race ban on a character who spends almost the entire show masked. Seems like there has to be a "reason", however misguided.

If you google "Emma Thicke," you'll find it.

Odd that that's the ONLY thing that comes up for Emma Thicke.

Posted: 7/15/09 at 3:14pmI'm so sorry to hear that, and also sorry to hear that the thread was deleted, just like the Margo thread a while back. Why on earth we shouldn't be allowed to discuss and remember members who made significant contributions to our little BWW community is beyond me.

I find it interesting that folks found her to have generosity of heart. Frankly, I have never met a more spiteful and vindictive person. She went out of her way to ridicule Debbie Allen and the production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I was shocked that a theatergoer could express such vitriol and have such a cruel streak. Maybe she showed different sides to different people.
Condolences, in any event. Aaronssongs.

Oh, indeed I do. And I look into it everyday. And what I see reflecting back is not spiteful or vindictive.
You don't know me. Don't pretend to. You were not privy to my conversations with BFB. Move around.

aaronssongs,
STFU. BFB was more kind and gentle than you will ever hope to be. She is FAR from racist, but maybe that's just YOU looking for things that aren't there.
She was a beloved member of this board, and you seemed to have joined just to make her into something she's not.
If you read her post, all she did was report what the audience members were saying. It wasn't HER point of view at all. She was there, night after night, and saw that the audience treated Robert G. differently.
Your anger is greatly mis-placed.

Going out of one's way to ridicule Debbie Allen and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof makes a person spiteful and vindictive?
Oh, love, bless your soul.
