Her 'Some People' was on BroadwayWorldRadio the other day. It reminded me of Streisand, but I understand that it was just a concert performance and not a full-out rendition of the song. Faith Prince would be amazing, as would Donna Murphy & Mary Testa, but my vote is still for Debra Monk. There probably won't be another production of Gypsy for awhile so I really hope they just keep it going with the actresses that are perfect for the part while it is still here. I think someone said Megan Mullally - that would be interesting, but I'd rather see her as Adelaide in the hopefully upcoming revival of Guys and Dolls. She mentioned on The View how she sang Adelaide's Lament for her YF audition and she got the part. Too bad that the Guys and Dolls they want to do is totally reimagined
Yes, Eder is a stunning vocalist but a very poor actress.
I would love to see Debra Monk or Beth Level but as previously stated, the show will close the day Patti plays her last performance if it even makes it that long. Updated On: 6/26/08 at 02:38 PM
