-- "Am I the only one that doesn't want the production to run past Patti's departure?"
No, you are not the only one.
And in reality, it will not run past her departure. (Truthfully, we don't know that it will run UNTIL her currently slated departure. But I certainly hope it does.)

I second Megan Mullally. I would go and I'm sure I would love it too.
Too bad she has TV commitments. And after YF, I wonder if returning to Broadway has left a bad taste in her mouth. I don't blame her for going back to Hollywood.

Too bad she has TV commitments.
Yeah, too bad. I'm SURE they wanted her to replace LuPone.
Not.

Ana Gasteyer

I'd see Gypsy again with Gasteyer.

Patti is so perfect for the role I can't imagine the show going on without her. BUT, if it does, I would love to see Beth Leavel as Rose. I've become a fan of hers after seeing The Drowsy Chaperone. I think she would be a great Mama Rose. Each actress brings something different to the role, so I don't think it's fair to compare. Btw, I'm new here! Big broadway fan, just never posted before.

I completely agree with BroadwayBound115 & threatXthree; they're my top 3 to do the role after Patti:
LINDA EDER (who sings "Some People" alot at concerts, etc.!)
Carolee Carmello (who would want to do it!)
Christine Andreas (because she should!)
3 of Frank Wildhorn's always lovely leading ladies!
Edit:
"I don't know how well her acting skills are. "
Apparently Linda got major acting lessons for the world premiere of Camille Claudel...not from Robin Phillips this time though (HAHA).

After Patti leaves, I would like to see this show leave Broadway. That would be my dream.

In my book, the show's gonna close on the last day of Patti's contract.

After Patti leaves, people will stop accosting her non-famous son at the stage door.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
