after seeing the RENT trailers, im worried about the effect the movie will have on me! if i sit at my computer crying every time i see the trailers, i cant imagine how ill handle the whole movie! if i go with friends, theyll prolly be more entertained by my sobbing than the movie itself, lol. anyone else feel this way????????

I know I am going to have to see the movie at least 10 times to actually relise that it's happening... I can see myself getting so stuck on a particular scene that I'll miss the rest of the movie

the theater managers are probably going to know me by name when its in theaters.
haha same.. i'll probably spend the whole weekend at the movie theatres just watching it over and over again, and the sad part is that im serious. I have so many friends who want to go see it with me so i'm excited.. i mean i watch the trailer millions of times so i dont think seeing the movie once is going to hold me over until it comes out on DVD :)
"I have so many friends who want to go see it with me"
At the moment, I've got 5 different groups of friends that I'm taking to see it (separately, of course... more viewings for me
).
I too have friends who are seeing it. Its more like I'll be dragging them there and forcing them to love it against their will though... Lol.
I am going to have to bring a respirator in case I hyperventilate and stop breathing from happiness and 10 boxes of tissues....
I have bunches of friends I'm seeing it with too! One group is gonna go the night it opens and we're gonna pull a Star Wars and dress up. She's going in Mimi garb and I'm in all tight black with cat ears. I'm gonna try to convince my guy friend to come in plaid pjs and a T-shirt. We plan to go again the day it closes in theaters so nobody will be there and we can sing and dance in the aisles. Of course, if people are there, we'll manage to stay quiet.
I can't wait!!
edit:
I'm forcing some people to go with me too. Maybe I'll force them to re-watch it until they love it! HAHA!

haha. i seem to be able to get everyone to go with me except my parents..the only people who can actually get me in, lol. how ironic and sad for me....
My feelings exactly. :-P I sit at the computer crying over a few 2 min trailers and who knows what I'll be like during the actual movie. I'm almost tempted to go by myself for the first time so I don't have my friends staring at me like I'm a complete idiot as I sob hysterically in my seat. I still can't wait though. I'll just be sure to lugg a few boxes of tissues with me in my purse.
Oh, I'm gonna be so bad in the theaters. If I a)cry at the CD, b)at the trailers and c)at the show ... I have. no. shot. in. HELL.
Like seriously, I'm going to be hysterical it WILL be bad.

but thats what separates us TRUE RENTheads from everyone else. Too bad we didnt all live in the same city...we could all go together, none of us would care b/c wed all be crying like idiots, and we could annoy the people around us which is always a plus, LOL.
Free dinner and a place to crash for anyone willing to come to Kentucky to watch it with me.

I'm also considering seeing it myself for the first time. Just so I have some me time with it.
KelRel- I'm in if you include the whole plane flight thing.
I have no idea if its true or not, but since its fun to stir the pot and watch people scream -- someone on TalkinBroadway.com is saying that Rosario Dawson is being dubbed in the film. Anyone know anything about this?
Why would they release clips of her singing on the website if she's being dubbed?
Ashley, you pay for mine and my husband's college tuition and you have yourself a deal.
I don't have the money to see it that many times. With the ten buck ticket prices these days...jesus. Still, once that DVD comes out, I'll watch THAT all the time. But in theaters I don't think I'll see more than 3 times if that.
join the regal cinema club every tuesday is FREE POPCORN, plus you earn free movies pretty quickly
Yeah if anyone lives in Southern California, PM me. :-P But I don't know, for the first time, the idea of going alone and not being hindered by my friends asking me "whats going on now?" "why are they doing that?" etc sounds quite appealing. I always figured I'd go see RENT alone when I saw it on stage the first time, and this seems oddly appropriate to me. I don't have the money to see it as often as I'd like in theatres but I'm hoping that the money I'll make for a show I'm doing right now, plus any job I may get over the year, plus the saved paychecks from my summer job will get me in a few times. Ticket prices are so outrageous though. Plus 30 dollars of my paycheck is already saved for the Soundtrack.
And kleenex. Lots and lots of kleenex.

i completely agree with all of you. everytime i watch the trailers i get chills, i cant even imagine how i am going to be when I actually get to see it in theaters! November 23rd, sooo long from now! I've converted my best friend into RENT soooo much, its great! He cant wait to see the movie. But on opening day, I'm going with my 2 friends who went to see it with me on stage..and my friend and i are dressing up as Joanne (her) and Maureen (me!)...the other one is "too cool" to dress up. And then after that i have about 10 different people I'm taking individually to see RENT!
I think half of them are more excited to see my reaction instead of the actual movie.
im going to absolutely lose it when I see the New Years scene though because I was like less than 100 ft away when they were filming that scene!
No day but today!! :)
Hey, my friend is paying for my ticket just so he can watch me cry. He also wants me to get up and dance during La Vie Boheme. I'll probably get kicked out like I did when I watched Chicago and Phantom of the Opera.
I thought the international (UK) trailer was better than the American ones. I think the red dress Maureen has on plus the flower in her hair is what attracted me to it in the first place. I think that's the outfit I'll wear for Halloween.
ADA what did you do during POTO?
I cry like a kid with a bloody kneecap whenever I watch the trailers, any of them. They make me think of my friends and how when the movie comes out, we will have been together for a year. My three darlings and I are going to wibb;e even before we walk into the theater. The sound of Seasons of Love will bring us to tears and we'll be a crying mess of peoples by the end of the movie.
Anyone in the Tampa/St. pete area of Florida who would like to watch this, we're going to lunch, dinner, whatever and you can watch us wib and have food! My diehards rentheads and I are going to spend that whole day just watching it over and over again until every motion is burned into our brains and we can go home and replay it in our heads...
I sound really obsessed. I'm going to sleep now.
Nighty night boys and girls.
Oh, you're all so lucky, the only people I know who actually want to go see it with me are my sister and her boyfriend!
