Does anyone know if Alice has plans to be out of the show on Saturday night? I hope night. I have tickets and am bringing 2 friends who have never seen it. We all want to see Alice.
Thanks for the help

Hey TheatreFan4, checked your heart lately? As in, do you have one? If you don't know the answer to tking's question, avoid the urge to be a b!tch and just don't respond.
See what I mean, dramamama? Tking asked a simple question, and even thanked in advance for an answer. TheatreFan4 responded with, at best, a very cheap shot referring to tking's disability. It wasn't even a funny snarky response, merely a cruel one. As Ms Ripley has missed a few performances recently, it wasn't an unreasonable question.
I don't assume people are being mean to tking, as you said the other day - it's plain to see that many here enjoy mocking those who are disabled. Some people on this board feel it's okay to be nasty, as long as they can remain anonymous. Thank you for your kind response.
Theatrefan, you're a coward, a bully and an unfeeling a$$.
Tking, dramamama is right - while there's no guarantee, Alice rarely misses a performance. Enjoy the show and let us know how you felt about it.

Also if you're heart set on seeing Ripley and she is out, her name is above the title so I believe this would allow you to get a refund and go another day.
I saw the show on 12/12 and she was in for the matinee but not the evening (which is the one I attended). I thought about getting a refund but I was lodged in the center of a row and I didnt want to go through the trouble. Her understudy was very good though and I at least got to see Aaron Tveit before he left.
I know Ripley's assistant also posts a lot about her schedule. When I looked to see if she had been in for the matinee, she in fact posted something about it on her twitter (http://twitter.com/lisakn2n):
Jessica P. is on as "Diana" this evening. (Alice R. was at the matinee.) 4:48 PM Dec 12th, 2009 from web
Hopefully she is in, I cant speak for her performance but enjoy!

I've read it several times. As it happens, I actually do know Ms Ripley, personally, have for about ten years (though we're not BFF), and am aware of her many eccentricities, and no, that wasn't clear. Color me obtuse, then.
I'll take your word for it that's what you meant, though, and I'll apologize and edit my previous post if you'd like - but no, it wasn't at all clear to me that Theatrefan was referring to her. I'm not quite sure how that's any better, though, but I then I really don't get the snark on this board that passes for clever.

I immediately assumed it was Ripley he was referring to... TONS of jokes on here about her "wackiness." (peep my profile pict)
His answer was pretty bitchy, but ghostlight's response was kinda volcanic.

Admittedly my reaction was volcanic - but then perhaps you haven't seen the kind of bitchy nastiness that has been heaped on tking in the past. Was it an over-reaction? Maybe - but given some of the things said about tking here have been beyond cruel.
And I don't understand why it's any more acceptable to make fun of Ms Ripley either. That may be funny to you, but it isn't to me. Again, it wasn't clear to me who TheatreFan was mocking, but either way, it doesn't matter. I don't see anything funny about mocking people (particularly when it comes to disabilities and mental illness) anonymously on message boards. I'm tired of people passing off their meanness as cleverness. If that makes me volcanic, so be it. It's all very juvenile.

Posted: 1/8/10 at 5:08pmSorry, but actors who are both talented and openly eccentric are gonna get discussed and ribbed. Always been that way, always will be... (Especially when they play it up -- she spent a good two minutes signing/decorating my Playbill. Odd, yes, but I loved it.)

"she spent a good two minutes signing/decorating my Playbill."
Did she "mark it" with her scent?
