An industry friend says that they're still talking about transferring this to Broadway next season, possibly after a run out of town. Any buzz?

Hopefully with a much better book, and a score that doesnt keep reminding me of Spring Awakening.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

God I hope not. This was among my least favorite things I've ever seen. Beautiful music, beautiful design, beautiful choreography, but underneath was an absolute garbage book and garbage lyrics, cringey, unfunny character-acting, with a director who had no idea how to tell a story that SHE herself wrote.

This was truly one of the most confusing, messy, and hard to follow experiences I've had in recent years. All the more startling since it's based on a story I know fairly well. I can't remember a single melody but I remember thinking every song sounded exactly the same, minor key with purple prose lyrics that mean nothing and never move the plot.

Agreed. And I'm a big fan of Sheik and the cast off broadway. The show was horrendous. I couldn't wait for it to end.

I loved the sparkling new space the show was in--but the show itself was confusing and dreary with the exception of Noah Galvin. I very much enjoyed his amusingly consumed and acted Queen of Hearts. The rest: meh.

This show was absolutely terrible, I doubt anyone wants to lose that much money mounting a Broadway production.

i have to say: my experience at MCC was the opposite of everyone else's … saw it near the end of the run. thought it was clever and entertaining; audience was engaged and appreciative, robust applause at the end. no one left, no one fell asleep that i could see (from my front row balcony seat).
all that said, in a million years this thing should not go to broadway.
why can't these types of pieces just live as the charming little off'ers they are?!

At least it gave us Molly Gordon as Alice. A much more successful creative endeavor by Jessie Nelson.

Im in the extreme minority but I absolutely loved the show and saw it twice during its run. I constantly am listening to the cast album and would love to see another production. That being said, I really can't see this show finding an audience due to (as I said earlier) I am in the very small percent of people that truly loved this show.
