THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW Previews

The mention of throwable props in this is remarkably stupid. It’s a historic theatre and so I can imagine a hard line has to be drawn somewhere since endless performances filled with water guns, thrown rice and toilet paper are going to cause damage over time.

But even more ludicrous is that the writer is saying that even dressing up in costume is not welcome, and that’s a bald-assed lie. Both times I went, many people were fully dressed up in their own costumes (and looked pretty good) and nobody said anything.

While I get that the callback situation is going to be the sticking point for many, this opinion piece reads like just another Karen screed - though what did I expect from the NY Post?

I have no problem with people coming to the theater in costume, just don't wear anything on top of your head. I'm always amazed at how oblivious and/or rude some people can be with their hats and hairstyles.

TITANÍQUE Previews
 Apr 3 2026, 08:17:05 PM

As an out-of-towner, I've never put Titanique high on the list of show to see on my frequent but short theater trips to New York, mostly because I hate the movie and have never been a Celine fan, although I do appreciate her bountiful campness and  was unexpectedly awed by her Paris Olympics performance. Reading this thread, though, is making me think that since I loved Rudetsky's "Disaster!"  in its St. Luke's  iteration and all those

His next film is actually titled "Dune: Part III," scheduled for release in December, and I

If Billy Porter wants to play a bitchy Hollywood agent, they should write another play for him. A friend of mine suggested Sandra Oh, and I think that’s brilliant casting.

That said, they’re clearly trying to rival Johnny Galecki’s, uh… talent… by hiring Cooper Koch.

Two years minus all the time spent on CHESS. So maybe three or four months? Can't wait for this, though.

My immediate first thought was the Church Lady. I mean who doesn't want to see a 70-year-old Mary still longing for cabaret stardom?

CHESS (2025 Broadway Revival) Reviews
 Dec 9 2025, 07:11:29 PM

Saw this last week and loved it (notwithstanding some of the Arbiter's well-documented idiotic comments). While "Anthem" is unquestionably the musical high point, I thought Aaron was quite wonderful throughout with the exception of his "One Night in Bangkok" which I though was curiously lethargic and mostly unintelligible. Is this always the case, or did I just catch him on a bad night? Definitely going back.

What Broadway musicals have you seen in a foreign language?
 Sep 1 2025, 06:49:50 PM

For anyone traveling to Buenos Aires during their winter (our summer), they have A LOT of theater, including many Broadway musicals (and some home-grown ones as well). I was just there in April, unfortunately a little too early to catch anything, but productions of The Little Mermaid, Pretty Woman, Spring Awakening, Next to Normal, The Little Prince and -- most intriguingly -- Rocky were about to open, all on Avenida Corrientes,  which our guide referred to--with an adorable mi

What Broadway musicals have you seen in a foreign language?

I"m seeing PHANTOM in Vienna this month and CAGE AUX FOLLES in Berlin later this year, and thought it would be fun to see  what American and British musicals others have seen in translation.

My first was CALLE 42 in Mexico City (my favorite show mug), followed by EL REY LEON in Madrid, HAIR and ANNIE in Oslo in Norwegian, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in Czech in Prague in a domed theater with a 360-degree auditorium and revolving stage that resembled the Thunderdome, the Flemi

Your first Broadway show?
 Aug 27 2025, 06:20:19 PM

My first show was Oliver! in Miami when I was in 4th grade. On my first trip to NYC December 1976, my first show on Broadway was a matinee of The Night of the Iguana with Richard Chamberlain, Dorothy McGuire, and Sylvia Miles. That evening I saw the Raul Julia and Ellen Greene in Joe Papp's Threepenny Opera at Lincoln Center. I have no memory of how or where I bought the tickets. I also squeezed in my first Met opera that weekend -- Tosca
