The Narrator has no gender. Tony Tanner cast Laurie Beechman in 1982 because she could sing it and because he figured the audience would get tired of seeing a bunch of guys with no womens roles to speak of.
Journey's End has no women.

Inherit the Wind has an all-male version. There are notes in the back of the acting edition showing script changes to accomplish this. For instance Mrs. Brady is cut. Just dropped and that's that.
