All male shows

Posted: 2/15/07 at 2:55pmAre their any shows (preferably musicals) that have a full male cast? All that comes to mind is Joseph, but that still has Mrs. Potipher, the wives, and the Narrator - the Mrs. and the wives *could* be could and the narrator *could* be a male, but I was wondering if their were any out there intended to be for all males. Thanks!

The Narrator has no gender. Tony Tanner cast Laurie Beechman in 1982 because she could sing it and because he figured the audience would get tired of seeing a bunch of guys with no womens roles to speak of.
Journey's End has no women.
ditto 12 Angry Men
Inherit the Wind has an all-male version. There are notes in the back of the acting edition showing script changes to accomplish this. For instance Mrs. Brady is cut. Just dropped and that's that.

Posted: 2/15/07 at 3:10pmI haven't seen the show, but I'm guessing Forever Plaid is all male. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Posted: 2/15/07 at 3:20pmJoseph has a female chorus and the wife. I find it tiresome whether it's all male or mixed. I've also seen some High School productions of it where they bring in girls to sing the brother's songs.

Most productions of "Pacific" (Including the original) bring in two or three females for the final number.
"Torch Song Trilogy" has at least 1 female role (Played by Estelle Getty originally)
"Love! Valour! Compassion!" is one that is all male, and you could possibly do "Last 5 Years" with two men (I'd kill to be Cathy).
