Anyone know why American Psycho pushed back its opening night?

Because the show is horrible and every 24 hours extra they can get is a blessing. This year's Finding Neverland. #calledit

Very good explanation.
Presumably, it is so they will now get that coveted 'feature' Friday review spot in newspapers. NERDS was scheduled to open that same day, but after they cancelled their run the date was open and AMERICAN PSYCHO grabbed it.

Two shows can open on the same day, ya know.

But only ONE show gets the above the fold featured review placement, and now, Patrick Bateman has it all sewn up.

But didn't American Psycho announce its dates before NERDS? If they wanted the Friday feature why didn't they just schedule opening on April 21st from the start? Versus scheduling April 20 and then changing to April 21 when the slot was available again.

NOPE "
So it'll be a financial and run longer than a lot of Tony nominated musicals from last year? Oh dear, whatever will they do?

I love shows that are "financials". Don't you?

Took the words right outta my mouth. What exactly is the procedure for snatching up opening night dates? Especially for this time of year when it's getting close to cut offs and everything things are opening what seems like every day. I assume a first come first serve idea and if someone has "called" a night, others might wish to stay away from that night. In which case.... yeah... what vampire said. If they wanted that slot they could have had it before Nerds. Could it be that they now feel like they need a bit more of a boost with a Friday review slot because they feel like they might need it?
I've never seen a vlog where they purposely did not show you the stage. http://www.broadway.com/videos/156746/killing-time-backstage-at-american-psycho-with-jennifer-damiano-episode-1-tech-time/#play

Honest question. Can you please name like two vlogs where the first thing they do is show you the stage? Like, I feel like you're genuinely trying to look smart but if you've watched 90% of Broadway.com vlogs, you'd know that it's rare for them to show the stage. Especially in rehearsal for a new show?
Adam Kantor has, Laura osnes's Cinderella vlogs, the wicked vlogs have show bits on the stage. Alex brightman shot the stage during one of the episode.
I would imagine it's up to the individual producers for each show and the designers and copyright owners over whether or not they want everything on stage featured in a vlog. This is not the first Broadway.com vlog where the filmer had to avoid showing the stage for copyright reasons.
I would rather see the behind scenes that she showed us anyway

Having seen the show in London (and really enjoyed it) I can't understand why someone who hasn't seen it would be so negative about it?

"having been a member since 2011 I am sure you TOTALLY understand!

They can, technically, yes, but they don't, and it is considered a major faux pas to do so. That is why there is a system in place for registering your show's opening with the league.

Revival, Osnes didn't show the stage until after opening, long running show, Alex didn't show the stage in the first episode. CATS is correct, it isn't up to the vloggers. One wasn't allowed to show anything happening on stage. I forget who, but I'm almost positive it was a female vlogger. Stop tearing down a show based on a vlog. You're better than that.

Two shows don't open on the same day because the press teams/ the media can't be in two places at once. Common sense.
The last time I remember a 2 show Broadway opening was an Easter Sunday when Cripple of Inishmaan and Violet opened on the same day in 2014, but one was a matinee.
last season IIRC MTC stepped on The Visit's toes.or v/v but as I said it is unusual and it is a faux pas that is not banking any goodwill.
