"Thousands of people around the world are being murdered every week due to wars and terrorism, we are facing the threat of a mental case becoming President "
Why are we on a chat board talking about shows when all that is going on in the world?
Mr Roxy said: "To some, nothing else in the world matters but this show. Not family, not friends not anyone or anything."
You do realize that obsession against a show is still obsession about a show, no?
She attacked my wife so she attacked me. I wonder what you would do if you were on the receiving end of an unprovoked verbal attack.

"Overzealous fan unloading inappropriately on less interested stranger" is a fairly common occurrence in sports, arts, and politics. Often best to just ignore them or express admiration for their passion and move on.
Mr Roxy said: "It is the one involving a duel in the revolutionary war.. Hint, it is not Wicked."
The only revolutionary war duel I am aware of is the one between Charles Lee and John Laurens. Is there a show about that?
Yeah, I wish Roxy would tell us what show this is. His information about it is confusing.
You don't need to see Hamilton to find the hype over the top. Ironically, this woman proved Mrs. Roxy's point for her.
HAMILTON. I think we all know what show he is referring to. Although I wonder why you just didn't use the show name Roxy?
I, a mere mortal, utter the name. I take the Harry Potter defense: It is " the show that shall not be named". If I do, Lord Voldemort shall smite me down.

That really makes no sense Mr. Roxy. I really don't understand what you are going for here except for perhaps attention. This doesn't even make sense as a thread for a Broadway message board. I guess it's too high level discussion for me.
Carry on.
I am talking about a show on Broadway & the insane hype over it. Why is it not a discussion on a Broadway chat board? Does it make sense to ask when you should start waiting in a line? What clothes shall you bring or where you go to the bathroom on line?
Uncageg, Roxy is a witty fellow, he refers to Hamilton as "The Show" because he has been around for a few years and knows Hamilton is just the show of the moment. It will come and go just as Rent, Cats and A Chorus Line did before it.
Sorry to read about what happened to your wife, Roxy.
Thank you for sharing your wit and stories with us.
but this thread is not about "insane hype" it is about one possibly insane person.
And yes every show comes and goes and nothing we chat about here is important in the grander scheme of things.
The only thing we can say with some certainty is that feeling the need to conjure up negative things about something you admittedly have no basis for evaluating, solely on the basis of how much it is admired by those who have such a basis, is irrational.
Mr Roxy said: "I, a mere mortal, utter the name. I take the Harry Potter defense: It is " the show that shall not be named". If I do, Lord Voldemort shall smite me down."
Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself, Roxy.
Also, Lord Voldemort isn't really much of a smiter. He prefers a less messy death on his hands.
Okay, have a discussion on the hype, but you drag Hamilton's success into every thread you post in, even if it not remotely relevant, and start new ones to complain about it. It's hard to take a complaint that you can't escape from it seriously.
He only mentions Hamilton all the time, which prompts people to then talk about Hamilton, because he's sick of hearing about Hamilton. Not sure why you can't follow that logic...
I've read more on this message board about how much Roxy hates the hype for Hamilton then I have actually read about Hamilton cause I don't click on any of the Hamilton threads but he posts in so many numerous threads about it.
It sucks your wife had to deal with an idiot but that idiot has nothing to do with the show.
If you will check you will see I do not post in any thread with the title of the show in it. In addition, it is rare I post anything about it lest an angry mob with pitchforks ala Frankenstein will hunt me down near the windmill.
For the thousandth time, I do not hate it. I just have no desire to see it. This is it plain and simple .What I hate is the hype and the rabid fans who take anything less than 2000% adoration of it as reason for immediate execution of said person. Have I made myself clear? If you love it, great. Just do not tell me I know nothing about theater like that moronic woman simply because I have the audacity of not wanting to see it.
I'm thinking that your wife running into a rude loudmouth in New York is worth starting a thread about it, then you don't get out much.

my post wasn't directed at Roxy. I know why he was referring to it as The Show.

It's just like religion. If can't handle the fact that someone else doesn't like it as much as you do, there is probably some doubt within yourself.
I don't think you should go see THE SHOW.
I don't think you would like THE SHOW.
I think we should start referring to it as THE SHOW.
