Wait....has anyone wondered why Eden is leaving early? Does anyone know why she isn't finishing those 13 weeks of the contract? Because I believe she should be done in Jan.

I've always heard October 8th would be her last day.

"Eden is rumored to be opening the LA production, along with Megan Hilty, David Garrison, Carol Kane, and Kristoffer Kusick."

Wow, really? If that is true then good for them! Although I do hope that Megan comes back to NY soon . . . she was absolutely amazing and I would love to see her in something else.

Man. I would love to see her. I loved Eden, but I was hoping for Ana to replace Shoshana. It's hard for me to get to a show on a weekday and that's about all that is left. I think some friends and I will try to hit the lotto. Maybe I will get lucky.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Trust me, Ana is an amazing Elphaba. I'd get my tickets now before they're all sold out.

omg omg omg. Excuse me while I flail my arms and go all fangirl for a minute.

*shrieks*

I was HOPING it would be Ana, but this news about her short run is the best thing possible because I'm over in Jan and seeing it both before and after the 7th. Two entirely different pairs of leads! It's like the casting directors know my love of multiple casts! re: Ana Gasteyer Joins Broadway's Wicked for 13 Weeks, Starts Oct 10

(And yeah, we were just watching Reefer Madness last night and getting all squealy imagining seeing Ana...only thing is, that was with the friend with whom I am seeing Wicked AFTER the 7th! Oh noes)

I hope they stop recycling after January 7th. I'm ready for new blood. I guess no news on new leads?

I'm wondering if the producers will try to cast a name for Morrible and/or the Wizard. I'm really hoping for a powerhouse Morrible. No one's competed w/ Carole yet.

I'll add on to the "HOORAY FOR HER, I'M SO EXCITED" train
You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

I was totally hoping that they would get a new person cast in the role of anyone in Wicked. I was deciding whether or not to go see it over thanksgiving but I defidently am now.

Yay! I'm so happy for Ana! She was my first Elphaba, and by far the best overall performance I've seen (I've since seen Kristy Cates, Eden, and Maria Eberline). Her comedic timing is priceless. She has a gorgeous, witchy voice. Her characterization is the best, too: her Elphaba is based on the book Elphaba-- very bitter and sarcastic. None of that happy-bubbly-I-really-want-to-be-popular characterization! I only wish I would have the opportunity to see her again. Come back to Chicago, Ana!!!

Ana and Kate were WONDERFUL in Chicago - I was lucky enough to be able to attend their last show. I can't even imagine how great they're going to be now, on BROADWAY, having gotten more experience under their belts.

I am DEFINITELY addicted to Ana. re: Ana Gasteyer Joins Broadway's Wicked for 13 Weeks, Starts Oct 10

I guess I'm the lone dissenting opinion on this thread, but I didn't really care for Ana.

I've been a fan of hers for quite a few years and I was very excited to see her in the role in Chicago. I was severely let down, though. I will admit that her chemistry with Kate was pretty good. Other wise her acting and vocals were just not there.
