She's stunning, and her voice is stunning! I'm sure she will be fabulous!

404?
Anyways, I thought it was like impossible for American actor's to work in London and vice versa? Whether or not she's American, she's doing a show in London?

It is listed on her site
"Beginning July 2006- I will be playing the role of Clara in the First National Tour of The Light in the Piazza. More info here."
And here is http://web.mac.com/emharrington/iWeb/ElenaShaddow.com/News.html for reference.
NOTE- And of course the rest of the world jumped in to clarify and prove the "rumor" is indeed true.

I was wondering the same thing DG. What's the shouting about when it is on her website? I never heard of her so I checked her website, and there it was.

There are plenty of American performers working in the West End right now who are not on Equity exchange terms. Not sure the details of how etc but someone like John Barrowman has dual citizenship (Born and early childhood in Scotland before moving to the States) so they get to work in both nations without hassle. Some West End regulars in The Producers, Leigh Zimmerman and Nicolas Colicos are both American (or shoot me if I'm wrong!) and you dont see any Exchange notice in the programme.
As for Elena Shaddow no idea what the deal is but you will notice that its not technically a West End show. Its a production of Showboat at the Royal Albert Hall. There will be a completely different deal with that venue.

The name did ring a bell but couldnt place her. Seems she was first cover for Laura in Woman in White and covered Benanti/Luker in Nine.

well, regardless of if I see it or not, I think it is true and she is amazing. Go see it and her if the show is near you. I'll be visiting my aunt and uncle in DC when it goes there
I can see it now.... that was weird.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
This is AMAZING news. Elena has a one of the most GORGEOUS voices I've ever heard (it's very Patti Cohenour in Drood).
I only wish that Elena could have been playing the role on Broadway right now. Imagine that trifecta: Patti, Elena and Aaron.
Sigh.

i have never seen Elena, but if she was the Laura understudy in WIW she has to be pretty good, i hope they cast Patti Cohenour.

I felt sure it was going to be Ruth Buzzi or Loretta Switt.

PIAZZA IS COMING TO TORONTO!!! ....but wait....it says the Princess of Wales theatre...I highly doubt Lord of the Rings is going to be out of there anytime soon. I hope she isn't misinformed about coming to Toronto in general, because I NEED to see this show.

Is there a way (letter-writing, protests, donations) to make sure that the "Piazza" tour comes through Dallas???? I SO WANT TO SEE THIS SHOW!

If she is, it seems like she jumped the gun on the official announcement.
