there is a piece in the current TIME magazine regarding andre and his ambition to be an actor. he comes off with humility and grace. he may be a great addition to films in the future...

Oh, I didn't mean him specifically - I meant the whole movie. With all the weird rumors (Fantasia, giving "And I'm telling you" to Effies mother, adding 6 new songs, the Michael Jackson element) I'm just confused as to whats going on.

However, with Jamie Foxx as Curtis, I'm still planning to see it.

There were rumors (I guess) that Fantasia was going to play Effie, and that as she lay dying at the end (how that works into the show, I have no idea) her mother was going to sing "And I am telling you" .... yep, utterly confused.

These rumors sound kinda silly, no? I doubt Condon will screw up DREAMGIRLS. And, Andre 3000 is super talented.

Years ago the CHORUS LINE movie came out while the show was still playing on Broadway. A friend saw the movie and I suggested that we see the Broadway production. The show was in razor sharp shape and I was excited to hear what my friend would say after the show. His response? "It was okay but it wasn't as good as the move." Ugh! I hope the movie DREAMGIRLS will be well done.

How about we just ask every rapper or hip hop star to audition for this film?

I think that's a GREAT idea. Who cares if they can't act? If they are a big name in rap. How about we get some 50 cent? Some Jay Z? Some Lil' Romeo, and Bow Wow! They all would surely be great in this film.

Well morosco, I'm sorry to say this but your friend taste is quite questionable, to me at leats. Anyone who could see both the Broadway production of "A Chorus Line" and the movie version of that show and can, with a straight face, say that they liked the movie better has got be operating on a very different taste level. Let me guess, your friend liked the movie version of "The Wiz" better as well?
