He should be on according to his bio "FAQ: on vaca from Les Miz june 23-30, no other scheduled absences." I'm sure you missed that lol. Good for you you almost missed him. He should be really good after having a nice rest.
Thanks for the info for an out of towner. I'm so excited to see Andy. I don't guess you know if any others are out.?

No problem. I'm not sure of any others. I've been a fan of Andy since SMASH.
Maybe someone else can tell you if others are out. I haven't heard anything.

He'll be back as of 7/1 since his vacation was 6/23-6/30. He doesn't have any other vacation planned after that either.
He's sensational as Marius! Not to be missed.
Mientus and Swenson are the best part of the show.
I have the complete opposite opinion of both Mientus and Swenson.

Saw Mientus' understudy Chris McCarrell on Thursday evening. Whereas Mientus is stiff and emotionless in the role, I found McCarrell was sweet, endearing, and charming. Spot on vocals and a ton of personality. Thoroughly enjoyable performance. I also really enjoyed Max Quinlan as Enjolras.

Andy just got engaged to his boyfriend in England.

Mientus and Swenson were the only two remotely redeeming qualities I found in this otherwise train wreck of a production. Karimloo was out when I went during previews. I think I saw Walpoole's first performance as Valjean and boy was it it rough.
^ I was at that performance too. I didn't care for Walpoole or Mientus. Returned to the production to see Ramin, and loved him, but still couldn't stand Mientus interpretation of the role.It just seems so stiff.

How did Arbender Robinson fare last week on his dates as Marius?
The understudy (don't know his name off the top of my head) I saw on Saturday was not good. Hate to say that, but the performance had an amateur vibe.
Arbender Robinson only went on as Marius for the matinee and evening performances on Wednesday. From what I hear he was quite good. The Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond) even wrote about his performance in her blog.
I think it was Mccarrell. I was pretty upset that Ramin was out. The cast in general was very bland.
Ramin was also out for the matinee on Wednesday.
So he was out both matinees and his usual Thursday? Wow. I really wanted to see him.
Ramin and Kyle Scatliffe are the only reasons I want to see this. Don't particularly care for Andy Mientus.

@Will3700 Enjoy the show tonight. Make sure you come back and tell us what you thought. Just because some people think his performance was stiff doesn't mean you will. I've also heard that his performance was nice because he was so "stiff" and then his character evolved into something else. Haven't seen the show myself so I wouldn't know :)
I feel like Ramin has been out more than he has actually performed.

It seems that there have been some questions about Ramin and him being in the show. I just went onto telecharge because they are good at announcing scheduled absences of lead roles and alternates as well. Aside from the usual message that Ramin doesn't go on on Thursdays I also noticed this message from them as well. I cut and pasted it from telecharg's website.
"With regards to Ramin, he has had some scheduled absences that are coming up/recently happened. I copied and pasted this from the telecharge site.
*Ramin Karimloo will not be performing on Thursday evenings for vocal rest. For the week of June 30 - July 6, Mr. Karimloo will not perform on Monday - June 30, but WILL perform on Thursday - July 3. In addition, Mr. Karimloo will not perform August 5 - August 10."

Karimloo was out both performances on Wednesday, then again on Saturday afternoon.
And Scatliffe has been out for around 2-3 weeks now on vocal rest. I saw one of the understudies, Max Quinlan, and was far more impressed by his performance than I've been with Scatliffe's in the past.

@Islander_Fan - so in basic terms. Karimloo did not perform yesterday but he will the rest of the week. After that he goes back to resting on Thursdays? and August 5-10 he's out completely
